RBN artist Winter Crescent giving away 100 digital copies of their album for Rock Band 3 players, and here’s how you can get your hands on a copy. If you’re one of the first 100 Rock Band 3 players who upload a video response on YouTube playing Battle of Egos Part II on Expert (Xbox 360 only), you can snag a copy of the album. Here’s how:

1. Choose your favorite instrument.
2. Upload a video of you playing Battle of Egos Part II or Battle of Egos Part II (2x Bass Pedal) on Expert on YouTube and share it in their Facebook page.
3. Make it a video response to their video clip on YouTube.
4. Email wintercrescent@gmail.com to let them know you did all of the above.
5. Get your unique download code.
6. Enter it in this site http://wintercrescent.bandcamp.com/yum
7. Download the album.
8. If you enjoy this contest, share it with your friends!

NOTE: You can enter this giveaway only one time. Rock Band Blitz videos will be also accepted for this giveaway. YouTube might send you a Content ID match for our music; this is perfectly normal.

OK, if you’re a fan of Rock Band (and why would you be here if you weren’t), you are probably aware of next week’s impending release of Rock Band Blitz, available for the PS3 on Tuesday, August 28th, and the Xbox 360 on Wednesday, August 29th. In celebration of the latest Rock Band title’s launch, Harmonix graced us with TWENTY Xbox 360 codes for copies of the new game. Instead of hoarding them all and gloating, we decided that they would best be served in the hands of our faithful readers!

Here’s where you come in, and how you can get your grubby little hands on the codes. One of the big features of Rock Band Blitz is its social connectivity, and how you can challenge your friends via Rock Band World on Facebook. As far as I know, every Rock Band song (official and RBN) can be chosen to challenge your friends/enemies/frenemies. In addition to bragging rights, the winner of each challenge will also receive some in-game coins and cred for further rocking.

So… when you finally play Rock Band Blitz, what will be the first Score Wars song you choose? Much like previous giveaways, answer the question in the comments below. Make sure to enter your email address so we know where to send the code. One entry per household please. Xbox 360 only. We’ll let this content run through Sunday morning at 10:00 am (Central), and soon after we will randomly choose and contact winners, so you have some time this weekend to get a head start on honing your Blitzing skills before most of your friends!

We took the month of April off from giving stuff away, so we figured that we better come back again with something strong. And thanks to the fine folks from @MadCatz, we have a couple bigger prizes to give away. Hopefully a brand new Rock Band 3 Fender Mustang Pro-Guitar would suffice as a nice welcome back to future giveaways?

If this is something that you want to try and win, here’s what you gotta do. Rock Band 3 debuted in October 2010, and introduced gamers on learning how to play guitar and bass. Since its debut, there are now nearly 250 songs in the Rock Band library that are Pro-Guitar/Bass compatible! If you were to win the Rock Band 3 Mustang guitar, what would be the first song you would play? Drop you answer in a comment below to enter!

Standard rules apply: one entry per household only, Xbox 360 only, and because I have to ship this at my own expense, US entrants only (unless you want to pay for shipping elsewhere, just be sure to note in your comment). Please include a valid email address in the appropriate field (not the comment itself, or include Twitter account if you don’t want to take off your tin foil hat) with each entry so we can contact the winner.

It seems like it has been awhile since we’ve given stuff away here on the site, so thanks to Harmonix, we’ve recently fallen in to a nice little cache of DLC codes for the Xbox 360 from the past year that we want to help give out. We’ll try to giveaway a different DLC pack each Friday until our stash runs out. First up is the Billy Joel Piano Challenge pack from last March. The songs included are…

Originally released on November 20, 2007, Rock Band has endeared itself to millions of people as more then just a simple video game, but a phenomenon. What started out as a game with 58 songs available on disc has blossomed into a massive catalog of well over 3,000 songs, downloaded over 100 million times. The game allowed a group of people with no formal musical background an opportunity to interactively experience some of their favorite music.

Four years of weekly DLC additions to an established franchise is nothing short of impressive, and to help celebrate their own birthday, Rock Band is giving away DLC of some of their best selling packs to a hundred lucky winners (88 separate tracks in total for each winner)! If you’re a fan of the site here, you may have some (or all) of the tracks that are being given away, but if not, this is a great opportunity to try to beef up your library. Full details and official rules are available on the RockBand.com forums.

So we’ve reached yet again another milestone with the Rock Band DLC library. With the addition of this week’s Yes DLC, we have now surpassed 3,000 unique songs playable in Rock Band! Three THOUSAND. That really is a ridiculous amount. While Rock Band will assuredly never catch the quantity of music available via digital retailers like iTunes, 3,000 songs has to be enough to surely establish the franchise as a more than just a “video game,” and something more like an institution.

Similar to how we had performed in the past (and probably will do shortly again in the future), Harmonix pulled together a short list of facts about the current Rock Band library. There have been 193 weeks of consistent DLC, starting on November 20th, 2007. 1,264 of the 3,000 song library came to us courtesy of RBN since the doors opened on March, 4 2010. The 3,000 songs represent the works of more than 900 bands and span 27 different genres. And more than 100 million songs have been sold through the Rock Band Music Store!

And Rock Band is celebrating this milestone by giving away 3,000 Xbox 360 OR Playstation 3 tracks to 30 lucky fans who will each win 100 songs of their choice. For a chance to win, enter in one of three ways:

• Enter on Facebook: Visit Rock Band‘s Facebook page and enter the giveaway posted on the page.
