Rock Band 2 Export Details
The game has been out for only a short time, and we now have details on what songs are missing from the 1.93 GB Rock Band 2 export. For the $9.99 export fee, we get all the songs EXCEPT:
- AC/DC – Let There Be Rock
- Journey – Any Way You Want It
- Metallica – Battery
- Red Hot Chili Peppers – Give It Away
- Soundgarden – Spoonman
Also currently missing in the export are the nine songs from Harmonix bands (see specific songs below). Do not fear! I talked with someone at Harmonix and these songs will be coming in the future as part of a FREE DLC pack.
- Abnormality – Visions
- Anarchy Club – Get Clean
- Bang Camaro – Night Lies
- Breaking Wheel – Shoulder to the Plow
- Libyans – Welcome to the Neighborhood
- The Main Drag – A Jagged Gorgeous Winter
- Speck – Conventional Lover
- The Sterns – Supreme Girl
- That Handsome Devil – Rob the Prez-O-Dent
NOTE: The code from the back of your Rock Band 2 manual is required to obtain the export. If you do not have this, please go to support.ea.com. They should be able to help you get a new code. Use the replacement code from EA directly to the Main Menu in the instructions below.
Xbox 360 Export
The export is now live, and is accessible by entering the 16 character code from the back of your Rock Band 2 manual in the “Redeem Code” area of the “Get More Songs” section of Rock Band 3. (If you receive an error, try the process again later, as there are LOTS of people trying to get this to work at the same time.) You will need to make sure you are signed in and connected to Xbox Live. If you have a 25 digit code, you probably have a copy from outside of your geographical location and will have to wait until the export mechanism goes live in your country.
PS3 Export
The export process will go live sometime after 4:00 PM (Eastern), once the PSN Store has been updated.
- Visit rockband.com/ps3-export
- When prompted, enter the code from the back of your Rock Band 2 manual
- Copy down the new code that the website gives you
- In Rock Band 3, go to “Get More Songs” in the Main Menu
- Select “Redeem Code”
- Enter the code you received from the website
Wii Export
Similar to the PS3, the export process will go live once the Nintendo Store has been updated (and is something that Harmonix cannot control).
- If you’ve played Rock Band 2 on your Wii, Rock Band 3 will automatically detect your Rock Band 2 Save Data.
- Go to “Get More Songs” from the Main Menu in Rock Band 3.
- Go to “Redeem Code”
- Select “Previously Redeemed Code”
- Select “Rock Band 2 Export Pack” (you’ll be prompted to pay 1,000 Wii Points)
- Your export will take several minutes to complete. You can also select which specific tracks you’d like to export.

In rockband.com/ps3-export, it ask for a 16 digits code, but on the RB2 manual, i have only a 12 digits code.
On PSN we have not 16 digits, only 12…
Any solution ?

Great, finally I can redeem my code, but now PSN is down for maintenance and probably won’t be up again for a few hours. Seems like some divine power doesn’t want me to export my RB2 songs…

International export still doesn’t work WTF???
SO some people will have to use the 25 number code from the back of the manual… as a UK user, will that be the case for when we get the game on Friday?
what if i lost my rockband 2 manual….?

Now why would anyone do that?
Is it possible to get a new transfer code? Been trying the 16 digit code on the back of my RB3 manual for 2 days now and keep getting the “This offer is not yet available. Try redeeming this token later” message.
Do you know why in the Music store on RB3 for Wii, I can only currently purchase songs from July 13-October 19 2010? I want the 3 free doors songs badly!!!

You can only buy the Doors songs by the pack only (free ones are seperate). As for you not seeing them, are you in the Recently Added song list?
WAIT WHAT? NO JOURNEY?
@$%@#$ THIS!
My favourite song is out.. This is actually a very big deal for me.
Okay, so I have a copy of RB2 for the PS3 that was bought in the kit about a year ago. It was brand new, so I KNOW the code is still valid. We never used it for anything until now. Both me and my roommate tried to enter the code on the site provided at least 5 times, and we both received a a message saying “Something’s Wrong! That game code was not found. Please try again.”
We know we entered it right, we checked double checked and triple checked each time we entered it and it just keeps giving us the same message. :[

Hey man. Me and my roommate had the same problem. Go to the support link in the main section of this post. We tried an email, but we were able to resolve the issue another way, but it wouldnt hurt to send one. But I digress… Go to the email us tab and when prompted enter rock band 3 as the the game and selct ps3 as your console. Then select the techical issues followed by the subsection that says something to the effect of downloads and updates. Then select the talk with a live person button. It might take a little while to get someone but relay your problem and give them like 10 or 15 minutes, and they will hook you up with a brand knew 12 digit code. I got one and redeemed it shortly and now I have the songs. Its time consuming but thats what I did so you should be able to do the same thing.

how exactly do you set up the e-mail to ask for a new code?
The back of my PS3 Rockband 2 Manual has a 16 digit code, when trying to export it asks for a 12 Digit code. Any advice?

where is that option???
For Xbox360 PAL players, you must only enter the first 16 characters of the 25 DLC code. Excerpt from the export page:
NOTE: International players should enter the first 16 digits of their code directly into their console.

I now have one of the scarcely few RB3 copies in the Neterlands and I can confirm this works. Just enter the first 16 characters (no spaces and dashes) and it will download after payment.
Oh, and the game is fantastic!
Hey, guys. I got two big problems regarding the exporting stuff..and hope someone can answer it. any information will help, thx a lot!!
Living in Asia, I found that most XBOX here are NTSC-J typed console, so we still do get a chance to play RB2 since it’s region-locked.
But, if RB3 is region-free?(confirmed??)
Can I use the NTSC-J typed XBOX to download the whole RB2 game and play it by using RB3 game/disk?
Thx again…I really need some help and seriously…Rock Band rocksss!
I purchased the rb2 export code for £4.95 in the uk for PS3 but nothing appears to be on the PSN to download.
Had problems like this when i got lego rock band. Took a week for harmonix to sort it out.
Maybe the company is run by a monkey and a hamster!
Also don’t get me started about the rock band keyboard for PS3 not being released on time.

The game hasn’t even been out for a week.
Exaggerating posts FTW!
I have a question. If I previously exported Rock Band 1 songs onto Rock Band 2, when I export from 2 to 3, will the songs from 1 come with it? Or do I have to do a separate export from 1 as well?
Also, does DLC just automatically show up? Or does it have to be re-downloaded? Thanks.

All the songs from RB1 sit on your hard drive, so you don’t need to do anything to get them to show up. They’re already waiting for you in Rock Band 3.
And yes, the same goes for DLC. Rock Band 3 will automatically find it.

I no longer have any Rock Band 1 saves on my system. Just Rock Band 2 with the imported RB1 songs in it. That will still work?
Hey guys!
my export code is 16 digits!! what can I do??? Im an international player! thanks in advance!!
I’m in the US. Got error message when trying to export. “Something’s Wrong! That game code was not found. Please try again.”
Emailed Harmonix support last night. Got an automated email response last night. Received a personal email today, telling me to call (650) 628-1001.
Called the number, and waited about 5 minutes before speaking to a representative. Told them my situation above. The representative apologized and gave me a 12 digit code to put into the game. Put in the code, paid my $9.99, and I’m downloading the 1959MB Rock Band 2 Export Pack right now.
The representative also gave me a 25% off coupon code for use on EA.com.
I’m pleased with the support. Thanks!
