NEW Rock Band 3 Trailer Via Facebook
Earlier this week, Rock Band’s Facebook page mentioned that once they hit 500,000 fans, they would release a new trailer. Well, earlier today, that threshold was passed, and thus, the new trailer was released. See it in all it’s glory below!

Those look like a lot of fun. Glad I’m picking up the keyboard bundle.
What the name of the song at the end of the video? I seem to recognize it….

Centerfold by The J. Geils Band. I had a “oh it’s THIS song” moment too.

I did when until I heard it too Circa lol…
Where’s the bassist? I was kinda hoping for it to be like RB2 but with a keyboardist in the back to the right of the drummer (facing the crowd).

I’m pretty sure they’ve mentioned that all 5 members will be on stage in the final game at E3 and they were just showing the beta version. I would have thought we would be seeing release version trailers by now though.

HMX has has no official word on the subject. It’s just speculation that it was a beta build. Odds are, we’re only getting four; we’ve seen four in the overshell, four in the animations behind the menus, four on stage. Four is the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be four. Etc.

If Bassists don’t appear on stage, it’s just another case where Bass gets shafted. First, with RB1, there’s no tour mode for bass. Then, in rock band 2, you cant see the difficulty for songs on bass unless you go on the leaderboard, or your scores unless you go on a site like Rock Band Scores, and now maybe with RB3 the bassist won’t even be on stage.

The bassist can be there. There’s full band videos out there that show keys+bass(no guitar), keys+guitar (no bass) , guitar+bass (no keys) present (even if there’s a big keys part going in the song). It LOOKS like (and I’m very hopeful) we’ll be able to pick the line up. If I’m not on keys, I don’t want they keys avatar present. Stringed things much more important
and more entertaining to watch.
Online, sounds like it’ll be a whole different ball game. If they have the standard 4 player limit it’ll be okay (all is ‘normal’), but implement 5 players…who wants to play without representation? I can imagine the keys/strings NOT taking turns on that as they don’t take turns playing guitar/bass now.
I’m scared.
@moose39
It’s probably a thing where if a player isn’t controlling an instrument, they might not be featured on stage but can still be heard….or it could just be to fit the aesthetic of the trailer. Doesn’t make sense to me either…just trying to make some sense of it.
Nonetheless…I’m still syked for Roundabout…I played that whole song in Marching Band in high school like 4 years ago…Keys look great!
awesome…. roundabout looks insane
its gonna be sweet….but I think Rock Band must only want 4 people on stage at a time, since on all other videos from live performances like at e3, there has been a full band live, but only 4 characters on screen.
it’s weird that they didn’t get all 5 instrumentalists up there. you’d think that they’d have at least made one of the characters vox(tar/keys/bass/drum) so they’d still only have 4 characters on stage but all of the instruments represented.
but still, YEAH ROCK BAND 3

That’s a good point, I hadn’t realized that we still haven’t seen animating for somebody singing lead and playing an instrument. Odd. Particularly since you know full well they’re never going to animate seven people on stage at the same time…

Err…animation. Not animating.
holy shit, them pianos are something else.
That scares the pee-pee out of me.

lol, thanks. I just wish it wasn’t true. >.>
Roundabout will be EPIC!
Hmm…still need to figure that character rotation and who gets to be seen on stage. Other than that, the graphics are looking very nice. Nice to see some more pre-fabs in all their upgraded glory.
Wow. It is gonna be amazing. Just from the trailer I see so many little glitches like their hands are to big for the guitar neck and rock band has always been perfect about that. D; and the keyboardist just looks high xD
Holy crap, I need to play Roundabout so bad!
I always complain that Du Hast is the only song an American seems to know of Rammstein.. but but.. Rock Band 3 will have keys! (yeah my brain is slow in thinking) DU HAST WILL BE FUN ON KEYS!
Ok I’m over complaining about Du Hast now lol

Du Hast is the most recent Rammstein song I’ve heard. I’ve heard quite a handful before Du Hast.
I never knew Du Hast was so popular until fairly recently.
hahahahaha the mana song has a typo =P it’s “oye mi amor” not “oye me amor” xD but it’s understandable since it sounds the same =3
