RBN Passes 500 Songs
A post by Matthew Nordhaus, AKA “The Overnord” on the RBN site, put up a post this morning with some very interesting statistics about the Rock Band Network.
As of yesterday’s RBN store update, there have now been over 500 songs published on the Rock Band Network! According to Mr. The Overnord, the store has been open for 162 days, which works out to over three songs released PER DAY, or nearly 22 songs PER WEEK, released since launch. He continues on to compare it to the official Rock Band DLC, which has 1,047 tracks available for a time period of 995 days, or just over one song per day.
Congratulations to all of the authors, artists, and Harmonix developers for the success of the Rock Band Network!

Numbers are sexy.
The only RBN song I have is Even Rats.
Is that 1,047 correct? Didn’t they say they would have over 2,000 by the end of the year?

I’m pretty sure they counted RBN as well.
So the total count is 1,547. At the rate RBN is going, plus the on-disc songs of RB3, I’m pretty sure they’ll well surpass 2,000 by the end of the year.

It excludes L:RB, RB1, RB2, etc, since it’s just talking about DLC. I can’t remember if the 2,000 total was supposed to include or exclude RBN.
These numbers are irrelevant to PS3 and Wii users.

Sucks!

Totally, Band of Horses is mint.
Heh, I just stopped including the weekly average in my RBN recaps, but the average was around 16 songs per week. That 22 up there sure shows just how many songs were already available at launch. 500 is amazing for sure, but the average is a bit skewed since songs were being worked on and finished long before launch. I think S1ckH4nds was recently celebrating his first year as a RBN author?

That’s a good point. The 105-ish songs available at launch definitely skews the per day/week metric favorably.
Okay i have been wanting atreyu in a music game since i heard them like a year and a half ago. Gh2 dnt count cus its cover and now that gh6 has them and ther was no 2nd mayhem pack. Im just wondering when it will finally happen?

GH6 will overchart everyone’s songs which is why I don’t count them as getting anyone LOL.
But yes we do need Atreyu’s hits.

Neversoft’s charting has improved immensly. Whatchu yappin’ ’bout?
Anything after World Tour (and not Van Halen because lord knows that was awful) is actually pretty damn good. GH5 was awesome. Iffy setlist but still fun as hell. The charts were spot on.

What does that have anything to do with RBN getting 500 songs?
