DLC for 11/6: Dave Matthews Band 3-pack

This week saw the release of the 4,000th song in Rock Band, courtesy of the Rock Band Network. It goes without being said that this is a ridiculous amount of songs, and comes on the heels of the second anniversary of the release of Rock Band 3, and just before the FIVE year anniversary of the Rock Band debut. So without further ado, here’s what’s coming next week to the platform…

  • Dave Matthews Band – Mercy
  • Dave Matthews Band – Ants Marching *
  • Dave Matthews Band – So Much to Say

* Denotes Pro-Guitar/Bass chart availability for $.99.

  • Tim the Enchanter says:

I’m not a Dave Matthews fan in the least, but I’d be tempted to get Ants Marching.

I do like the song Satellite but that is not an option this time around.

  • Rockox says:

If this were the mid-90s I’d be going out of my mind right now. As it stands, I’ve been over Dave Matthews Band for awhile. Great news for fans, though.

    • MattyT says:

It’s OK. I haven’t heard anything from “Away from the World” yet, but I will freak out for you OMGOMGOMGOMGASDF

Would’ve preferred a larger pack, but you gotta start somewhere. Here’s to more in the future. Those drums are going to be SO GOOD on Pro!

  • Erik1974 says:

I’m not a diehard fan or anything, but I do enjoy some DMB once in awhile.

  • Croq says:

Wow wow wow!!! Extremely happy about this news. 🙂 Been waiting for DMB for a LONG time. Thanks HMX!!!

  • Sensei says:

Ants Marching will be fun. I’ll have to get it for the wife.

  • P-Town Brave © says:

Not a big fan by any means but will probably just pick up Ants Marching….

If they had put in What Would You Say and Crash Into Me I would have probably purchased the entire 3 pack…

But I am certain there are a lot of happy ppl out there today….

It’ll at least give me another song to add to my party list for a week from Sat….but I’ll more than likely be playing more WWE 13, NFS, DC3, and COD:BO2 next weekend…

Here’s for Genesis or something alluded to being announced next Fri

    And happy gaming everyone!

    • LCS says:

Is WWE13 worth a look? It looks incredible but I wasn’t a fan of the controls in 12.

Anyway, thanks HMX for giving me an excuse to keep playing Assassin’s Creed 3. Insta-pass.

      • P-Town Brave © says:

Attitude Era Mode is probably the best RPG mode of any WWE game so far and bringing back plenty of characters from that great time in WWE….and Universe Mode 2.0 is improved as well w/ the best part being that is was written and produced by Paul Heyman…which means it has to be great.

That said, I don’t prefer the control system either so it took some getting used to but it is the same as 12.

How is AC3? I really like the storyboard for it….just sounds amazing.

NFS MW is worth a pickup as well if you like the old NFS games when they were good….

        • LCS says:

My co-worker says NFS is awesome.

AC3 is an experience. If you’ve played any of the prior ones you’ll love it. I played through 1 and half of 2 (got bored, it became repetitive).

The story in 3 is great so far, missions seem to have enough variety. Graphically the countryside in the snow is almost on par with Skyrim.

  • Toad3000 says:

*waiting anxiously for the inevitable decrying of the death of RB…*

I’m not a fan of DMB in the least bit, but this is a pretty huge win for HMX. Ants Marching and So Much to Say might very well be popular enough at gatherings that I’ll pick them up. No interest in the new single though.

  • Augustus says:

16 year old me is doing back flips in joy. 32 year old me will probably eventually get Ants Marching depending on the chart because it has the pro upgrade.

Honestly I’d be more excited if I wasn’t so dissapointed it wasn’t Tool, which someone will undoubtedly say is my own fault, but how do you not with such an obvious wink to it.

That said the great thing about Rock Band, the thing that has kept me playing consistently for five years is there’s always another Friday and I have plenty to play until then.

    • RockBandAide says:

There has been ZERO indication that Tool DLC was coming next week.

      • Augustus says:

Oh, I know. And I was a nimrod to think so. I won’t hold a grudge against Harmonix, but I thought such obvious red herrings would be more trouble than they’re worth so they’d be actual teases. I don’t know; I’m bad enough at understanding direct language. I have no hope of deciphering coded language.

    • Sid Kafizz says:

Funny. I was 32 when Under The Table & Dreaming came out. This should be a great pack. Can’t wait for Tuesday.

  • RBGHfam says:

Not a big fan either, would have preferred some of his other hits like Crash into me, #41 or Too Much. I do like the fact this is a new big artist in the game though and there is probably another pack in the wings with 1 or 2 of those.

Oh well, still haven’t downloaded Chicago and Sublime, so lots to play until next week!

  • James! says:

Not that big a fan (as is just about everyone else above me), but it’s about time.

  • Brandon says:

I HATE DMB, but I am slightly tempted to pick up Ants Marching.

But with all these new bands, I can only pray that Chevelle or Alter Bridge will finally turn up.

  • Sidd says:

thank you so much hmx. Two good weeks in a row.

  • Brady says:

As one of the “fags” you’re assuming you know something about, let me say I’m not going to love this. (I might pick up one if I get bored, but DMB isn’t my favorite.)

So you’re logic is a bit off- and I’d argue so is your maturity level.

  • Ospero says:

Okay, I’d heard of this band, but never actually heard any of their songs (and by the by, thanks again, HMX, for picking yet another artist with next to no success outside North America. Wasn’t Sublime and 311 enough?). My word, what an annoying voice. Still, might get these for the guitar charts – if I could tolerate Cinderella’s singer, I might be able to deal with this.

(Add-on to the rant above: I’m fully aware “Crash” went seven times platinum in the States, so more power to you. The only other country where it charted was New Zealand, though it somehow managed to go platinum in Canada without ever hitting the top 100. DMB’s best-charting album in Germany? Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, at #74. At this point, I’m just a little afraid that HMX might be losing sight of the fact that there are people outside the US who still play this game.)

  • MrMet2087 says:

I don’t like DMB but this is an interesting week of DLC and ill tell you why. DMB was once a confirmed exclusive to Power Gig:Rise of the Six String, but now that they are in RB, it leads me to believe that any exclusive band for that game is now free, which means: Eric Clapton, Kid Rock, and John Mayer

    • MattyT says:

This. I really want some older John Mayer, now that we can figure him as a potential possibility.

  • mc040 says:

So that’s one “exclusive artist” from power gig down… Just Eric Clapton and kid rock left….

  • AlabasterKat says:

Based on the comments above; DMB isn’t as popular as I thought. Not a fan either, but this is a big one for HMX. It’s also a solid month of releases I’ve HEARD OF.

This one will do great for Harmonix I’m sure. Good ones for the fans, I’m sure a lot of ppl will be happy for this.

    • Toad3000 says:

Hmm…maybe there’s just less overlap between the diehard RB players and DMB fans? They’re too busy twirling somewhere, no doubt. 😛

  • Sidd says:

Eric Clapton isn’t exclusive to Power Gig, he’s got a song of his in Rocksmith.

    • MrMet2087 says:

He was at one point, just like DMB which again leads to my point of these artists obviously being free now from that agreement

  • Jason R. says:

I am not a DMB fan in the least, but it’s definitely a good sign for me as a Rock Band fan that HMX is still putting out DLC from pretty popular artists. Makes me optimistic for the future, even though I’m not a huge fan of this three-song limit most weeks.

  • The Dave says:

Again a decent artist and a curious track selection. Ants Marching excluded.

  • Ninersphan says:

WOW, raelly thought the recpetion hear would be much more positive. I for one am THRILLED for DMB, just wish it was a whole lot more:

    Crash Into Me
    Tripping Billies
    Grey Street
    Stay
    Where Are You Going
    Grace is Gone
    Bartender
    What Would You Say
    Lover Lay Down
    The Space Between
    Don’t Drink the Water
    Everyday

Just to Name a few. Drummers are gonna love DMB.
My Number 2 most wanted band…

    Maybe there’s hope for U2

  • Ninersphan says:

    • Bob says:

Yeah, I think at some point everyone jumped onto the “it’s cool to hate” DMB bandwagon, but I’m back off that. I enjoy them, and considering I do primarily play drums, I would love a lot more of their songs in RB. Hopefully there’s more on the way cause my ideal 3 pack would be something like:
      Two Step
      Tripping Billies
      Crush

Even their newer stuff like Funny the Way It Is would still be great for drummers.

  • Kyle says:

And when I thought Rock Band got worse for doing Miley Cirus they do this

  • Diego says:

i’m surprised at no Crash into Me but this pack is AWESOME. Ants Marching and So Much To Say are great songs. Mercy is pretty and should be fun. So happy about this!!

  • Steve says:

Not the biggest fan of DMB, but excited for the score by HMX… these guys were definitely overdue. Five years strong and HMX is still putting out great DLC, with new and varying artists all the time. I will echo the complaint of most responders that the song selection is a little off, but should leave plenty for a second pack. I hope to see DMB 02 contain: “What Would You Say”, “Crash Into Me”, “Satellite”, “Stay”, and/or “Tripping Billies”. If we were to receive those five, I would be done on DMB DLC.

  • Xanadu says:

Good songs. I might pick up Ants Marching.

  • WiiDrummer says:

I guess my long streak of not buying DLC wont be over next week. I hope they announce some more Metal soon! Congrats to the People that wanted DMB!
