Rock Band Blitz song pages found on RockBand.com

It would seem that people have been looking at URLs over at RockBand.com, and while we may not know about any upcoming DLC, it was found that the pages for the Rock Band Blitz setlist are all up. Some of the songs may have a few errors (like no art, or the wrong art), we did learn what the tiers are going to be and that Shine is a re-record. For those curious, here’s the links.

Nothing else was found over on the website that can give us leads on new DLC that we don’t know about, but it’s still nice to see the tiers, and that Spoonman and Give it Away are RB3 versions!

    SO PUMPED

  • RedIon1992 says:

Related: I think the ad on the sidebar might be up a little early… what with the “On Sale Now” text and all. :P

    Yeah, don’t tease us!

    Hahahahah. Somebody jumped the gun.

  • James! says:

    Three things I noticed:

    1) Shine by Collective Soul is a re-record

    2) The page for Wicker Man uses the cover art for Steve Miller Band’s “Brave New World”

    3) The link for Shout doesn’t work.

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

Oops. That was a mistake on my part. I’ll fix that.

    Ospero Reply:

Another thing I noticed while I was trying these out yesterday: the page for REM’s “These Days” now shows the cover art for the Foo Fighters album “Wasting Light”.

    James! Reply:

In a related note, “These Days” by Astra Kelly has the correct album art. Weird.

    LoopyChew Reply:

That’s because Astra Kelly’s “These Days” is RBN, so it has a much less confusable “UGC_#####” designator.

    Rix311 Reply:

The sound quality on my “hints, allegations blah blah blah” album was pretty poor so probably had no choice but to re-record. Hopefully they stayed close to the original. And I’m hoping for more from collective soul!

    James! Reply:

Definitely hoping for “Heavy” at some point in the near future. And since my neighbor’s brother is the band’s bassist, I’m going to try and send that down the line.

    Ben Reply:

Awesome! I have been waiting for any Collective Soul songs to be on Rockband since it first came out. Please beg and plead your friend to get his brother to talk to Dean and the rest of the gang into getting all of their best songs onto Rockband. Collective Soul rocks! My favorite band. Wishlist: Heavy, Simple, Listen, Precious Declaration, The World I know, December, Better Now, Burn, Compliment, Crown, Disciplined Breakdown, Gel, Forgiveness, Maybe, Next Homecoming, Needs, She Said, Run, etc etc. The list could go on.

  • Craig M. says:

The one for shout has been taken down/404 error (not too sure) but a great find still

Man I cannot wait for the 29th now!

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

No, Shout is still up, I just accendentally put a space in the link.

    Craig M. Reply:

    Ah cool. Cheers :)

  • DVD Smith says:

Also noteworthy: Cult of Personality appears to be the original.

I’m also slightly annoyed that Diamond Eyes won’t be listed with the rest of the Sound of Madness songs because the album is listed as ‘Sound of Madness Deluxe’.

    WonderWaageUK Reply:

This was announced right around the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

Well, it IS from the deluxe edition of the album. I’m pretty bummed that Moves Like Jagger won’t sort with Maroon 5 though.

    pancho Reply:

so HMX was able to track down the original masters for Cult of Personality??!?!?!

    Nico the Ryhthm Addict Reply:

They were never missing. Activision rerecorded the song for GH3 because their license deal was with Living Colour themselves, who didn’t own the rights to the original.

PowerGig: Rise of the SixString proved that the masters exist in 2010, which probably involved striking a deal with Sony and Epic records. Either way, it’s likely the same thing Rock Band is doing.

  • Gbangr says:

I’d love them to bump up the release to this coming week – unlikely but would love it.

  • Ed says:

The Pop songs are the most difficult to sing.

  • Polanker says:

The Wicker Man has keys??? What the!!

    Ospero Reply:

That shouldn’t be too surprising – the songs off “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” in the Maiden Epics pack had keys too, and “The Wicker Man” is newer than those.

    Polanker Reply:

Good point. But I’m more surprised because I heard that song a million times and I don’t hear any keys there o_O

    Ospero Reply:

Now that you mention it, the Wikipedia page doesn’t credit a keyboard player either. Strange. Perhaps they charted one of the rhythm guitar tracks to keys?

  • Matt says:

Great note for us harmonisers: 24 out of 25 of the songs have a harmony part. Yay.

    Can’t wait. Have to wait.

    LCS Reply:

And Give It Away is boring anyway so I’ll be avoiding it. I’m stoked for a ton of harmonies too.

  • Roxorspade says:

I still make virgin sacrifices to the almighty Harmonix gods that these songs will one day be available to Wii players.

    HM Reply:

I’m with ya! It would be a tragedy to not have these songs!

    Numskull Reply:

Pimping out those virgins would probably generate enough revenue to buy a different console and rebuild your song library on it.

    WiiDrummer Reply:

Us Wii users have hope for a DLC release of the songs from RB B! Just stay active in the forums and let them know we want this!!!

  • HM says:

Interesting to see Give It Away actually got easier for the most part. Really curious to see if they will do more upgrades.

    Ospero Reply:

Well, the vocals tier was always a joke for a song with precisely one singing phrase among a bazillion talkies…

    Cokes Reply:

To be fair, that one singing phrase *is* worthy of a couple dots.

  • Xanadu says:

I’m disappointed that Shine is a live version/re-record but this does explain why we haven’t seen Collective Soul on Rock Band. A google search of shine 1994 brought me to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziii7q8tXgk

    Ben Reply:

Its not a live version. They re-released a cleaner studio version.

    Xanadu Reply:

Thanks for correcting me. I look forward to hearing it.

  • RickC32 says:

Does anyone know if Rock Band Blitz will have a story/tour/plot/whatever? Will it just give you a list of songs to play, like if RB3 went straight into Quickplay? Or does it have some kind of plot, even if it is really shallow, that guides you through the 25 songs that come with the game?

  • pol says:

So Far Away was not released January 1st, 1970…

    King Arthur Reply:

Well, Carole King’s came out in 1971…

PS I’d rather have that song. Or any Carole King song instead of A7X. And I don’t even like her that much.

    Some Random Person Reply:

That’s the start of UNIX timestamps… presumably, the actual date hasn’t been entered into their system yet, so it is just using the default of “0″.

    Cokes Reply:

    They all say that.

  • Peacemaker says:

Give it Away has keys? News to me

    Dave Reply:

I’m thinking the “Keys” will be the Mouth Harp that’s prevalent throughout the song.

  • dc32 says:

    And…the links are taken down.

    Plainclothes Man Reply:

    Just checked them… Still working.

  • zommie says:

    Always @ 4 tier drums?

Not possible. That song sounds as hard as Up All Night and that is under tiered (imo).

    Some Random Person Reply:

Spam? .parature.com …. not too mention the terrible URL structure.

    Some Random Person Reply:

Eh, maybe official (just looked up Parature on Wikipedia). Still, seems like an odd link since it isn’t directly on HMX’s site.

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

It is legit. Harmonix uses Parature for support procedures all the time.

    RickC32 Reply:

Thanks for this. It gives away some details of gameplay that we did not know.

It looks like meeting goals gives you coins in RBB, as opposed to giving you fans in RB3. You can use coins to buy power-ups in RBB. Fans in RB3 were only good for swinging around your e-peen in the interwebz (and occasionally a new piece of clothing).

Also, it looks like HMX can dynamically add goals to RBB, which was a problem in RB3. I understand that you can’t add achievements, but adding goals for new DLC or, really, adding goals for any reason, should have been possible in RB3. I am glad they have fixed that.

Another interesting phrase was “cooperative goals”. Apparently, you can work *with* your friends on some goals and share the rewards. For a game with no multiplayer, this adds a little bit of that feel to the game. I am more of a cooperative person than a competitive person. I am not all that obsessed with beating people’s scores or moving up the leaderboards. I am glad that the interactive part of RBB will not be solely of the, “Beat my score, biatchhh!!” variety.

    Ospero Reply:

Here’s hoping the thing with the addable goals is testing the waters for an eventual RB4. No, I still haven’t given up hope that we might eventually see it. ;)

    RickC32 Reply:

If they were really abandoning Rock Band, I don’t think we would be getting Rock Band Blitz. My guess is they did not want to put the big bucks into a new core title until the PS4/XBox 720 come out. Since it is now obvious that is a couple years off, we are getting Rock Band Blitz to keep the brand alive and bridge the gap to the new consoles.

    RockBandAide Reply:

It’s also really, REALLY fun, and a great way to breathe new life in to a MASSIVE DLC library.

    RockBandAide Reply:

I’ve been given a review copy earlier this week, and we’ll explain everything in full detail once the embargo is up on Monday.

    RickC32 Reply:

RBA: “It’s also really, REALLY fun, and a great way to breathe new life in to a MASSIVE DLC library.”

Now I may be looking forward to this more than I was RB3. As someone who always ends up coming back to standard guitar/bass (despite excursions into other instruments and Pro), RB3 was just 83 new songs. None of my legacy DLC was different on standard guitar/bass. If RBB is fun, it could be like turning my library into 1000 “new” songs.

  • Ben the Wii Player says:

Any word on these just being DLC for the Wii, even if we don’t get the game, the track pack for that price would be Awesome. Or even just the songs as singles for the Wii would be nice.

  • Numskull says:

If there had been any word on this, it would be in a more obvious place than this comments section.

    Numskull Reply:

This is in response to Ben’s post above, obviously. Now let me get this bullet wound in my foot checked out.

Why does the ad on this site say that Rock Band Blitz is “ON SALE NOW” and “TRY THE FREE DEMO”?

    Nico the Ryhthm Addict Reply:

It got mistakenly run 2 weeks early. Word of Harmonix says that the demo and game will be out the same day.

    RockBandAide Reply:

Actually, our agreement was to run the ad starting at the beginning of August, despite receiving it last Friday. Looking at the content of it (reference to “available now” demo, links not working properly yet), the ad itself was designed to go live when the game was made available. We decided to keep it live anyway, unless we hear any different from Harmonix.

So only ONE song is Devil tiered on guitar?

    Ospero Reply:

Yup. And that one doesn’t deserve the devilheads in my opinion; the solo isn’t long enough to really make you choke, and the main riff certainly doesn’t warrant that rating. Generally speaking, guitar in this pack was a massive disappointment, yet the game is so insanely fun to play and gives us some really good songs into the bargain that I’m willing to overlook that.
