The Guild’s Latest Song is Already Rock Band Friendly

For those that may not be in the know, The Guild is a comedy web series created and written by geek superstar Felicia Day about a guild of gamers’ online and IRL lives. And many of you remember that (Do You Wanna Date My) Avatar was a song from The Guild featured as a Rock Band Network track. The latest song from The Guild, I’m The One That’s Cool, looks like it may already have a future with Rock Band, if the Jed Whedon directed video has anything to do with it.

The video helps launch the website and YouTube channel for Geek and Sundry, a new brand dedicated to geek culture, featuring new weekly media from well known personalities such as Felicia Day, Wil Wheaton, Veronica Belmont, and Paul & Storm.

  • Would buy! Love The Guild so much!

    MAN I WOULD TOTES BUY!~

lol I thought the ending reveal would be that they were the ones playing the game. I think it’s funnier that it’s the jocks and such who are though lol

Eh, I don’t really like it, just like their other song it sounds really bland and boring. I’d also associate myself with jocks more than geeks, but both are fine. Hope people enjoy and buy the song, It just doesn’t sound very interesting to me. The Rock Band bit at the end was pretty awesome though.

I love! Started out slow, but then it picked up!

They better release it for RB!

I hadn’t really been following Felicia Day or Wil Wheaton (other than old TNG), but between seeing this and attending Wil’s panel at Emerald City Comicon on Saturday, I’m really interested in going back and watching The Guild and their new show Tabletop. I’ve really been missing out. Wil’s 90 Minute Awesome Hour panel was easily the most entertaining of the weekend.

The truly cool don’t have to announce it; they allow others to say it for them. This comes off more as smug and self-satisfied.

Lisa: That song is so lame.
Homer: So lame that it’s… cool?
    Bart and Lisa: No.
    Marge: Am I cool, kids?
    Bart and Lisa: No.
Marge: Good. I’m glad. And that’s what makes me cool—not caring, right?
    Bart and Lisa: No.
Marge: Well, how the hell do you be cool? I feel like we’ve tried everything here.
Homer: Wait, Marge. Maybe if you’re truly cool, you don’t need to be told you’re cool.
    Bart: Well, sure you do.
Lisa: How else would you know?

I do like how they went from geek to cool by being badass rock stars.

OK, I’ll say it. Felicia Day is cool.

    Also, you’re a bit cranky.

(I mean, God forbid there be a song out there that might make teenage geeks and outcasts feel a bit better about themselves and give them hope that things will get better in the future. They might not know their place as perennial losers if that happened.)
