I authored the guitar track for Time Bomb. I stated over and over that it should be tiered at either 5 dots, or devil-heads. Somehow, something derped or something didn’t get changed, and it made it into the store at a 3-dot difficulty rating. This is pretty inaccurate.

For some of you, this is awesome. The solo is amazing and anybody who didn’t think PM5K’s guitarist was all that great would do well to check it out and get their ass kicked.

For some of you… you may have bought this thinking it would be a moderately-tiered track, and until the final 1-2 minutes of it, thought you were right. I’m truly sorry for your unexpectedly hurt fingers.

Don’t fret (ha!). This kind of thing happens even with regular DLC – anyone remember the bass tier for “My Generation”? Or, as a more recent example, the supposedly tier 1 guitar on “Alright” by Darius Rucker?

Thanks for the warning, however. Haven’t gotten around to playing the Powerman 5000 tracks yet; now I know what to expect.

Okay, I was wrong in that last sentence. I didn’t know what to expect. Be careful, folks. That guitar solo pushes “Time Bomb” well and truly into devilhead territory. Ouch. (I also didn’t find it particularly fun to play, but that’s just my personal tastes on the matter – if fast-paced, random-at-first-glance guitar solos are your thing, go and get this.)
