  • Jason R. says:

I am a HUGE Fleetwood Mac fan, so I’ll probably end up getting this entire pack. I know that lots of people will be saying “WHA, NO THE CHAIN,” and I agree with that sentiment. But these are excellent selections.

    • Jason2087 says:

Absolutely “Why no the chain” just because it’s my favorite FM song, but This is a good pack

    • Plutarch says:

I totally concur. “The Chain” is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song and it would be great for pro bass. OMG SAVED FOR RB4!!!! 😛

  • Vonskies says:

Edge of Seventeen = instant buy

  • FT says:

    No The Chain? WTF?

Regardless, I’m happy for all those Fleetwood Mac fans out there, I won’t be buying this though

    • Ospero says:

A: Why go WTF at the missing The Chain if you’re not buying?

B: The Chain is probably missing because this is not so much a Fleetwood Mac 4-pack as a Stevie Nicks 6-pack.

  • Toad3000 says:

It is a little surprising that there’s no The Chain, or Lies, as other people on the forum have pointed out. But still, this is an awesome pack and I’m buying the whole thing.

  • T says:

“Edge of Seventeen”. Otherwise known as “That song that Destiny’s Child sampled for ‘Bootylicious'” 😉

Also, I’m shocked that “Rope” didn’t come out alongside the release of “Wasting Light” next week. What with it being on that leaked list with “Edge of Seventeen” last week.

  • dlauthor says:

Excellent. Now I just have to figure out how to get Melissa Auf Der Mar to come sing the harmonies to Gold Dust Woman at my house.

    • dlauthor says:

Actually, I think the Gold Dust Woman version linked to is the Hole cover. Which is probably the best thing Hole ever did, but it’s the wrong version.

      • RockBandAide says:

This is the problem with Grooveshark. It’s all user submitted music, which is frequently mislabeled, so I often have to go back and fix.

  • Dustin says:

Buying the whole thing! WOOOOOT!!!!! XD!

  • Whizzer says:

I recognize more than I expected to. May buy this, since I do like Fleetwood Mac.

  • FoxForever says:

    Yay for Fleetwood Mac.

But boo for no The Chain or Gypsy or You Make Loving Fun.

    But hell yes for Landslide.

    • Dustin says:

I would have love those as well (Especially Gypsy), but beggers can’t me choosers, and this is more FM than I had before, so no complaints from me!

  • MyGGGo says:

Great set of classics this week.

  • Goldskarr says:

Edge of Seventeen? I remember that song off the radio a long time ago… used to sing it with my mom all the time… I want.

  • Fluffy says:

Edge of Seventeen = instant buy (2)

    This is awesome.

  • Flan says:

Just a heads-up, the Grooveshark playlist is using the Hole version of “Gold Dust Woman”, not the Fleetwood Mac version.

I was listening for a bit thinking, “Boy, this sounds a lot more aggressive than I remember. Courtney Love could probably do a great cover version of — oh wait…”

Also – full pack purchase for me.

  • Kirksplosion says:

I’ll be snapping all of these up. Awesome! Every single one of them are great tracks, IMO.

  • Croq says:

    Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!!!!!!!

  • Tim the Enchanter says:

I was hoping for Rope this week. Oh well, it gives me something to look forward to hoping for next week.

  • Dustin says:

Also should mention than the version of “Landside” that was posted is from The Dance, not the master.

  • Old Fart says:

Epic week. Promised myself I wouldn’t buy another track until I played through my whole library in RB3 though (only 250+ left!) – so I won’t be picking them up for a while.

  • jond76 says:

Whole pack for me! Take my money!

  • Game!Ov3r says:

Dont get me wrong, I am one of the older Rock Banders @ 30 and love the classics but I am kinda getting burned out on the flood of oldies lately. We need a nice little pack of current songs to freshen things up a little…. throw in a little Chevelle, Saving Abel, Hinder, Skillet, My Darkest Days…

I will be picking up a few of Mac/Nicks songs next week.

    • RockBandAide says:

It’s nice to see a lot of classics join the library, but I agree with you. It would be a good “palate-cleanser” to get some newer “alt-rock” in to the game. I would take ANY of those bands for future DLC!

      • Sans says:

Agreed. Im only 29 and I don’t mind the classics, but what I love is variety. its seems like its been months since we got anything from the last 10 years.

        • Croq says:

There actually have been a few recently, like Dragonforce, OK Go, and Death Cab for Cutie, but yeah, it’s definitely been classics heavy of late.

I’m not complaining as these classic tunes have been awesome and actually are my favorites… But I wouldn’t complain about a little variety too.

    • expertwinSH says:

If we’re getting current bands then we need MOAR of a certain band that begins with the letter “M.” *cough*Muse*cough*

    • Toad3000 says:

If Chevelle, Saving Abel, and Hinder are among the best current music has to offer, I’ll stick with the classics.
Now if we were to get Brand New, The Gaslight Anthem, Thrice, or more Garbage, Jimmy Eat World, Kings of Leon, Metric, Phoenix, Rise Against, Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday, or…dare I say…Muse, then I’d be OK with more current stuff.

      • Mike says:

        This.

Rise Against is easily one of the most fun Rock Band bands, in my opinion (as a drummer).

Gaslight and Against Me would be pretty sweet too…

      • Game!Ov3r says:

Not a lot of those bands get radio play at least around here. Rise Against is the only one that gets any play. I am talking about Top 40 type radio tunes that a lot of people know for when having Rock Band get togethers. Trust me a lot more people would be picking Porn Star Dancin over anthing from the rest of those bands.

        • RockBandAide says:

I don’t even think it’s about which band is “better.” (I hate that argument, BTW.) It’s a matter of offering an alternative to a subset of the market that may not care for the past few weeks of classic rock (probably a predominantly younger audience). Their hunger for a different genre of DLC does not get discounted just because you think one band is better than another.

        • Toad3000 says:

Gotta love the differences in radio airplay. I’d never heard this “Porn Star Dancing” of which you speak, gave it a listen on iTunes and it’s a definite “no thanks”
Not all the bands I listed above get a lot of airplay, but some (Jimmy Eat World, Metric, Phoenix, Rise Against, Muse, Kings of Leon) do, at least around me. More importantly, they’re really popular among my friends, so they’d get a lot of play at our Rock Band gatherings. Different strokes, and all that. 😛

          • Game!Ov3r says:

We have a lot of play for My Darkest Days here with their song Porn Star Dancin is huge! along with Saving Abel, Shinedown, Sick Puppies, Taddy Porter, Hinder, Skillet, Halestorm…

    • Twinkles says:

Wow, I have never heard of any of those bands… O.O

      • Ospero says:

Hinder and Skillet have songs (or rather, one song each) on the platform – so there’s your chance right there. Standard DLC too, not RBN, so it should be available for all platforms.

  • RBGHfam says:

Not a huge Fleetwood Mac fan but these are all very recognizable song’s (except the one that sounds like Courtney Love). They will go over great if you have parties where Rockband is involved.

Probably buying 4 of these, I’ll have to give Gold Dust Woman a few listens, Stand Back would be strictly for keys. Personal favorite is Landslide!

  • QuestionMark says:

Very nice. When I first saw the announcement I considered cherry-picking 3-4 of the songs (Dreams, Edge of Seventeen, Rhiannon, and maybe Landslide). Then I told my wife about it and was informed that I will be getting the entire pack. =)

  • QuestionMark says:

Oh, and a nice thing about this pack is that it demonstrates that the leaked songs can be accompanied by others (even though I’m sure people checked for all of those Fleetwood songs with the URL hack). Gives hope to people hoping for more than one from Foo Fighters, Mastodon, Phish, or the Band (I wouldn’t count on a second one from Loverboy or Tommy Tutone though).

    • RickC says:

Alt-Strum Productions have “Megalodon” by Mastodon in playtest. Weird that one song from Leviathan appears to be upcoming official DLC and one song from that album appears to be upcoming RBN. Very welcome, the more Mastodon the better, but still weird.

    • davesmiling says:

yep, none of those other Fleetwood Mac song’s were listed or Stand Back by Stevie Nicks when i found “Dreams”, and “Edge Of Seventeen” & am so happy as wanted more Fleetwood Mac, but this could possibly mean more Phish, Foo Fighters, etc, and given the amount of Love the Foo’s get, i’d be more surprised if we didn’t get at least 3 song’s from them now, possibly an album as haven’t had one for ages.

  • RickC says:

All great, classic songs, but I wish we would get another week of Pro Upgrades for legacy DLC in addition to new DLC, like we got back in early March. I was hoping that would be a regular feature. Not every week, but it has been 6 weeks and I was hoping for every other week or once a month. My Squier gently weeps for that “The Trooper” Pro Upgrade…

  • eyescovered says:

insta-buy. lots of fun songs here!

  • Krystof says:

I will be strangled for this, especially since I’m a fan of only the classics, but I kind of wish we could of gotten the Hold version of God Dust Woman. I think a lot of people would agree it sounds a whole lot more fun to play.

  • Jason2087 says:

HMX might have missed the mark with this one as I’m seeing a lot of people asking where “The Chain” is (As am I) but either way it’s a good pack and I’ll be buying and I’ll just hope that “The Chain” shows up one day.

    • RockBandAide says:

That’s not fair to claim “Harmonix may have missed the mark with this one.” What if the record label didn’t want to use that one? What if the band doesn’t like that song? What if it was too expensive to license? What if the the multi-track masters don’t exist?

    • Game!Ov3r says:

Maybe we will get the Tantric cover 🙂

  • Vampire-Jekyll says:

Dreams and Rhiannon are insta buys. Landslide I might pick up since I know it from countless covers (most notably Smashing Pumpkins [now there is an artist we need more of]). Everything else = Pass.

    • volcom_sk83r says:

Agreed, we DEFINITELY need more Smashing Pumpkins. Siva is still one of my favorites for all instruments.

  • IowaRocker says:

Definitely getting the whole pack… I am a HUGE Fleetwood Mac fan, so the more the merrier… More than that though I am really hoping the fact that they are putting out a full pack of Mac means that there may be a possibility of a full pack of The Band coming soon with the leak of “The Weight” last week… I love me some Levon Helm!

  • samjjones says:

    The Band 01

(All recordings are LIVE from the “Rock of Ages” album)

    1. King Harvest (Has Surely Come)
    2. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
    3. The Weight
    4. The Shape I’m In
    5. Up On Cripple Creek
    6. This Wheel’s On Fire

    • RockBandAide says:

What is this in relation to?

      • samjjones says:

The above post mentioning the possibility of add’l Band songs along with “The Weight”. If they are grabbing from “Rock Of Ages” (where “Chest Fever” was pulled from), that would be a good pack.

  • Arcanon says:

    DREAMS

    LANDSLIDE

    DO WANT

Getting the rest too if I’ve got the cash for it, why not.

  • JR says:

This is a good sign for more Phish songs than just Stash, but I assume it means Stash is the only song in that pack with “pro” mode, as Dreams and Edge of Seventeen were involved in the URL hacking and the non-pro songs weren’t. I checked landslide myself.

    • QuestionMark says:

Oh, good point. Maybe the leaked songs are just the pro ones (for some reason).

Explains why no one could find the song that would round out a hypothetical new wave 3-pack with the Loverboy and Tommy Tutone leaks.

Either that or I’m reading too much into it again.

  • the Dave says:

Good stuff but needs more Little Lies!

  • Steve says:

This will get chicas melting in my living room and tossing their panties at me while I serenade them with the sweet sounds of Stevie Nicks. Thanks for the future booty, Hmx!

  • Rez says:

I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for Mac for a long time now. Don’t Stop was a terrible choice for this game due to its lack of guitar and repetitive drums. I still think Lindsey Buckingham has been given the shaft because his songs from the group’s heyday would be fantastic for this game but regardless… for a Nicks back I think they nailed it.

I’m excited to see people play Landslide. The vocals are so soft and yet the guitar is fairly insane for a slower song. I’m seeing sentimental vocal performances mixed in with a lot of cursing from the guitar players, haha good mix.

Great harmonies from Dreams/Gold Dust/Rhiannon too, should be a fun party mix.

  • CloudWolf says:

I like Fleetwood Mac, but I don’t really care for Stevie Nicks’ solo career, Landslide and Gold Dust Woman. So only Dreams and Rhiannon for me…

Oh, and one more thing: Harmonix, please make a pack consisting of Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac. I want Oh Well in Rock Band so badly.

  • CCDaDon says:

I think it’ll have to be me to actually put some sense into the “why no chain” argument. This pack is obviously to showcase Stevie Nicks on lead vocals. She’s in the backup role for Chain.

Now, if a Lindsey Buckingham/Fleetwood Mac pack comes and there’s no Chain then you can complain.

  • volcom_sk83r says:

might get Landslide, but probably not. I think we need an Andrew Bird or Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire pack. It’d surely be epic.

  • Chris says:

Christine McVie looks like a dude in that picture.

  • Jerec says:

I’ve been eagerly hoping for a Fleetwood Mac pack. I will definitely buy this one. No “Seven Wonders” though? Oh well. Maybe next time.

  • MilesRose says:

Wooo! Fantastic pack! Maybe next time we can get the “The Dance” version of “Tusk”. Think of how epic that will be on drums!

  • RJK says:

Picking up Gold Dust Woman and Dreams – hopefully we’ll get the rest of Rumours down the line.

  • eric says:

AWESOME set of classics this week. First time in a while where i’ve actually wanted to pick up every song they’ve released in a week.

  • sharkstar says:

I will be getting them all, but I would of liked to seen The Chain and Gypsy.

  • Paul says:

Personally, I would’ve loved “Second Hand News,” but this is a great pack.

  • Josh says:

    We need full Seether albums

  • Crashb648 says:

Im a good fan of fleetwood mac, and this pack is certainly going to be a full purchase of it. I am disappointed that Gpysy and a keys update for Don’t Stop was not released however (that song is full of keys!)

  • Bob says:

Im really glad to see more Fleetwood im a huge fan! Grew up listenting to Stevie and Fleetwood. I cant wait for tomorrow! I really hope that in the future we get the rest of the Rumours album plus a few singles like Gypsy, You Make Lovin Fun, and The Chain. I also would mind some of the older stuff when Peter Greene was still alive. Black Magic Woman especially, dont get me wrong I love Santana but I love the dark feeling Peter Greene gave the song plus its original.
