Puddle of Mudd DLC Rumor Becomes Less “Blurry”

Not too long ago, we learned through some URL magic over at RockBand.com that Puddle of Mudd may be making their way into Rock Band in the not too distant future. And according to a recent interview with Puddle of Mudd guitarist Paul Phillips, we can indeed expect to see the band soon in game.
On Matty P’s Radio Happy Hour, Paul Phillips talked a lot about the current state of the music industry, and commented on how many bands are looking into alternative revenue sources, particularly in avenues such as Rock Band and Guitar Hero. When pressed about whether the recent rumor was true, he confirmed that Puddle of Mudd is definitely coming, but that the songs arriving on the platform are still in limbo, citing that publishers have a bigger impact on this decision than the artist.
It’s a great listen, and I highly suggest you check out the entire podcast and interview here, particularly Paul’s comments regarding Rock Band (starting at about 68 minutes in).
Official Site URL “Hack” Hints at Poison, Live, A-Ha, more DLC?

The “old” URL hacking technique over at RockBand.com seems to have occurred again, this time with select industrious individuals dropping in the names of some well known artists and finding some interesting placeholders. Many have done this in the past, and the results don’t stay up for long, but this technique is fairly successful at uncovering future DLC offerings. It worked back in September of last year, uncovering Bob Marley, My Chemical Romance, and Doobie Brothers DLC, and again in March, with Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, and more.
This time, this was what was uncovered, along with the link to the placeholder artist page at RockBand.com:
If you find any more, include them below in the comments, and be sure to stop back as I update this post!

Roy Orbison DLC Coming April 26th

Big thanks to Troy for giving us the heads up on this! According to a few sites including guitar maker Gibson.com and music news site AntiMusic.com comes word that we will be seeing a three pack of Roy Orbison tracks dropping as DLC next week in a pack called the “Roy Orbison: 75th Birthday Pack.” The pack will include the following songs (no word yet on which songs may include Pro-Guitar/Bass features):
- Blue Bayou
- Dream Baby (How Long Must I Dream)
- Only the Lonely (Know the Way I Feel)
The DLC appears to coincide with the release of Roy Orbison: The Monument Singles Collection, a 2 CD/1 DVD set of Roy’s digitally remastered music.
Still not official until Harmonix confirms tomorrow, but this looks pretty certain to be (hopefully part of) Friday’s DLC announcement.

The Band and More Grand Funk Railroad DLC Leaked? [UPDATE: More Songs Discovered!]

Big thanks to Nick who let us know that some people over at the official forums found some links on RockBand.com to songs that have not yet been released as DLC. And if you look at these songs, they seem to perfectly compliment the DLC rumor from last Friday. Could this again be an issue of DLC leaks coming directly from Harmonix, or since this Friday’s DLC announcement is on April Fool’s Day, that these could be part of some grand prank on the community?
The songs discovered, along with links to the placeholders pages on RockBand.com and a playlist of the two tracks, are included below:
UPDATE 1: You guys are awesome! A few more of you have found links to the following songs:
- Fleetwood Mac – Dreams
- Foo Fighters – Rope
- Mastodon – Blood & Thunder
- Phish – Stash
- Stevie Nicks – Edge of Seventeen (Just Like the White Winged Dove)
- Loverboy – Working for the Weekend
UPDATE 2: As many of you pointed out, Harmonix may have gotten wise to the cat-and-mouse game being played, as they took the site down briefly yesterday afternoon, and when it came back, the links referenced above 404′d out. However, links to band specific pages are were working, such as this one to Tommy Tutone. Links such as this now display a “Server Maintenance” error, so it looks like this methodology of discovering potential leaks has been halted.
[Thanks, Nick!]
Joy Division, J Geils, and Grand Funk DLC Leaked? (Rumor)

D’oh! Did someone over at Harmonix may have inadvertently put up the incorrect video intro in this week’s DLC announcement using a future DLC release instead? It certainly appears that way. And RockBand.com forum poster “Alvarado6411″ was quick enough to grab a copy of the video before it was pulled. While this is not confirmation that the songs are coming, because anything could (and has) gone wrong at the last second, but considering the source is RockBand.com, I think that’s as close to a confirmation of future DLC as we’re gonna get.
The songs featured in the leaked video below are…
- Joy Division – Love Will Tear Us Apart
- Grand Funk Railroad – American Band
- J Geils Band – Freeze Frame
Immediately below is the video evidence from RockBand.com, followed by a playlist of the songs.
[Thanks to @shaneep for the heads up!]
DLC Leaked for 3/15 (UPDATE: Confirmed)
UPDATE: Harmonix has now confirmed that this is indeed the DLC coming out next week. I’ve updated the data below to reflect the Pro-Guitar/Bass track.
Interesting. Looks legit to me, and continues with the track record that the European Rock Band 3 Music Store continues to inadvertently leak future DLC ahead of schedule. It appears that next week may be continuing with the 4-songs-a-week model that has been the norm for the past couple of weeks.
As per any rumors, nothing is definite until Harmonix officially confirms, but below is what appears to be coming out next week!
- OK Go – Shooting the Moon
- The Police – Every Breath You Take *
- The Police – So Lonely
- War – Spill the Wine
* Denotes Pro-Guitar/Bass chart availability for an additional $.99.
