This track pack was initially silently teased last June at E3 with a poster at the Harmonix booth. There has been very little mention of this since then, but recently there have been some product listings popping up on some online retailer sites, as well as achievements leaked via websites. This morning, Harmonix has officially announced that the Country Track Pack 2 will be hitting store shelves on February 1st for $29.99. The track pack will be exportable into Rock Band 3, as well as previous titles, and will include harmonies and Pro Drums (no keys or Pro-Guitar/Bass support). As with previous track packs, the songs on the disc will be exclusive for a limited time before joining the entire Rock Band library as DLC. The full track listing follows, along with samples of each song, below:

This week had a nine-track “Going Country” pack of various country music artists, including Reba McEntire, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, and Keith Urban (just to name a few). The most recent country music pack released prior to this was back in early February. Also included, but subsequently pulled due to the appearance of an unexplainable vocal bug, was the RBN Megamix. The track is down right now, but according to HMXHenry on the forums, once the error has been corrected, the RBN Megamix track will again be available for free.

It appears that the country music DLC rumored to arrive on August 31st is not the Country Track Pack 2, but instead a standalone normal DLC pack (which may or may not be included in the disc-based track pack). According to Amazon.ca, the Country Track Pack 2 is currently slated for a November 9th release. The disc is currently retailing for CDN $29.99 across all consoles (including the PS2).

If the November 9th release is indeed true, I would like to assume that the songs on disc will include Rock Band 3 features, but the existence of a PS2 version puts that into doubt. It could be anyone’s guess as details from Harmonix have been scant at best (besides the E3 poster, that is).

While checking out Rock Band 3 and Dance Central at E3 this past June, I noticed an interesting poster in the booth (above) that most people seemed to walk by and not think about. I posted it on the site later that night, and when I asked people at Harmonix for details about the future Country Track Pack, I was unable to get additional details. Thanks to a Country Music Television fan on the RockBand.com forums, it looks like this may be coming on the last day of August. I had assumed that this would be another disc-based track pack, but I’m not so sure that will be the case any longer.

Teon24133 from the RockBand.com forums also noticed a mention of a Lady Antebellum song featured on the televised banner for the track pack. We’ll wait for more details on this from Harmonix, but it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer to get our additional country music fix!

I haven’t seen anyone else talking about this yet (I probably just missed it), but I did take a pic of this poster before I left the MTV Games booth yesterday. No listing of tracks to be featured on the game, yet. I’ll see what I can do today. More details to come!

Look at that… next week’s DLC comes out on Groundhog Day. I wonder if we’re going to see Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe?” If you don’t get the reference, go watch “Groundhog Day,” and then come back to check out the DLC announcement.  The DLC over the last month has been track packs from artists that already have DLC available (Tom Petty, Alice in Chains, Blink 182), as well as a number of the Country and Metal Track Pack exclusives.  Looks like next week gives us more of the same…
