Thursday Throwback: “More Than a Feeling” by Boston

Well, I’ve turned to a true Rock Band classic this week. It’s a track that many regard as one of the best on the entire Rock Band platform, currently the top paid downloaded DLC song tracked among members at both DLCQuickplay and My Rock Band Songs. That’s right, this week’s song is Boston’s More Than a Feeling.
Interestingly enough, for such a popular song, it only reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, yet is was named by VH1 as the 39th best hard rock song of all time. The song has been featured in more than ten movies and fifteen televisions shows, and has spawned several cover versions, being one of the most featured classic rock songs ever. As most of you already know, Boston’s self-titled debut album was released as DLC in early 2008, which included Peace of Mind, also featured as a Thursday Throwback.
As most would expect, being one of the most played and most downloaded Rock Band songs ever, this is a blast to play for the entire band! The 3-tier guitar includes a lot of variety, from power chords to that famous intro riff to those memorable solos. The 2-tier bass is a good compliment to the guitar, as well. The 3-tier drums is great on Pro Drums, with lots of fills and changes in the chart to keep things fresh and great to play. The 3-tier vocals are also really fun to play, with some great tambourine sections. Although I personally can’t comment, the song also includes subsequently released Pro-Guitar and Pro-Bass charts, and can only imagine how amazing those must be, as well.
Here are the gameplay charts: (Because you know you want to hear the song again!)
Don’t forget the Pro-Guitar and Pro-Bass charts!
I would appreciate it if you would have a look at my growing fansite, The Tribute Pages which features tributes of video games (including Rock Band 3), TV shows and movies. Thank you!
