Harmonix Rocks Out With Some Awesome Kids

Harmonix has been making a lot of big announcements lately that have the entire Rock Band and rhtyhm gaming community a buzz. With everything from Beatles: Rock Band, to the Rock Band Network, to Lego: Rock Band, it seems like every other day there is an official announcement from Harmonix letting us in on the next big thing they’ve been working on. But with all the time and effort they’ve been putting in on all of their amazing projects, they still have time to give back to the greater community in a big way.
A few weeks ago, Harmonix opened its doors and invited in a group of children and their families to hang out for the day and play some Rock Band 2 and Beatles: Rock Band, as part of the Starlight Children’s Foundation “Great Escapes” program. The “Great Escapes” family activities program was created to provide families with a chance to spend recreational time together to relax, regroup and return home with a renewed sense of strength and hope.
The children and families that visited got a chance to hang out with a bunch of the Harmonix employees, as well as fire up good old Rock Band 2, as well as get a chance to try out a few songs from The Beatles: Rock Band. Timid at first, the children and even some of the parents quickly broke out of their shell and were able to rock out to their favorite artists before the day was done!
So as us faithful love to read all of Harmonix’s DLC announcements, let’s not forget that it’s the stories like these that make the most significant impact.
