Bob Marley, My Chemical Romance, More Coming as DLC?
Using the trick I came up with to find some of the Snoop Dogg DLC album art, a number of industrious folk have taken the baton and ran with it, going to work to see what else could be found. Well, the efforts have been fruitful, as below is more album artwork found on RockBand.com that may (or may not) mean there is DLC coming from the particular artist/album combo.
And to be clear, this does NOT confirm future DLC, but it does mean there may be a much higher chance of seeing songs from these albums as DLC at some point in the not-to-distant future.
UPDATE: There is a NEW Doobie Brothers album coming on September 28, 2010. With that news and the two instances of album artwork from them below, what do you think the chances of Doobie Brothers DLC on 9/28 are?
- Bob Marley & the Wailers – “Legend”
- Bob Marley & the Wailers – “Natty Dread”
- Bob Marley & the Wailers – “Burnin’”
- My Chemical Romance – “The Black Parade”
- My Chemical Romance – “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”
- Atreyu – “Congregation of the Damned”
- Buckcherry – “15″
- Dio – “Holy Diver”
- The Doobie Brothers – “The Captain and Me”
- The Doobie Brothers – “Toulouse Street”
- Soundgarden – “Superunknown”
- Underoath – “Define the Great Line”
- Beck – “Guero” (size of the album artwork suggests it is older, probably scrapped, DLC)
- Metallica – “Load” (size of the album artwork suggests it is older, probably scrapped, DLC)
- Metallica – “Master of Puppets” (size of the album artwork suggests it is older, probably scrapped, DLC)
- Metallica – “Reload” (size of the album artwork suggests it is older, probably scrapped, DLC)
- That Handsome Devil – “A City Dressed in Dynamite” (size of the album artwork suggests it is older, probably scrapped, DLC)
If you find anymore, drop ‘em in the comments below, and I’ll update this post.

Do love me a bit of MCR!
Also hope the Metallica isn’t scrapped…
I found the ReLoad album art by metallica : http://www.rockband.com/images/dlc-cover-art/reload_Album.png
MCR- ‘Black Parade’ would be awesome.

Black Parade begs to be played at the largest in game venue with awesome choreography. (and of course with keys….)
MCR DLC is way overdue, but I must admit I was far more excited to see Holy Diver after the jump. Hopefully we’ll be getting the title track.
Rainbow in the Dark is on Holy Diver, so seeing the rest of the album seems both likely and awesome.
I found this http://www.rockband.com/images/dlc-cover-art/acitydressedindynamite_Album.png It’s under DLC cover art, so say what you want, That Handsome Devil hasn’t had DLC yet so…

Makes sense. The LP DLC turned out to be a false rumor.

i found Congregation of the Damned from Atreyu to work.

Like with CCDaDon’s example, no DLC from this album yet and it supports that rumour a while back.

E-pro was in RB2. RB2 stuff is apparently showing up now.
Well that’s weird. I don’t see The Bends.

That’s because it’s here:

The fact that sometimes they use song titles complicates matters…
If Guero, Legend, 15 and Superunknown were released I’d be set for life.
Well mostly Guero.
Please GOD let Congregation be an example or something. I spent the last year begging for Atreyu. This is not what I meant.
On a lighter note, I hope we can get Underoath, MCR, and more Metallica. That would be awesome.
(Really, Congregation? I would have even settled for Lead Sails.)

legend- jammin
natty dread- no woman no cry (live)
burnin- i shot the sheriff
Curious that DLC that is confirmed doesnt show up.
My Own Summer by the Deftones will be available to download for people who preorder at gamestop yet there is no art for the album it is on, My Own Summer.

They didn’t, The Guess Who did. You did a search for “The Who”, and since The Guess Who contains both “The” and “Who” in their name, they came up as well.

Doesn’t the size of the album cover tell whether it is new or not?
I would KILL for the full album of Master of Puppets. Harmonix is probably saving it for some big reveal, I’m sure.

We already have Monster from that album.
I’m loving that Black Parade link. Here’s hoping for a pack with:
- House of Wolves
- Teenagers
- Dead
- The Black Parade
Another Doobie Bros:

I was looking for “Album” by the band “Girls” but found Joan Jett’s “Album” instead lol:

That would be “Fake Friends,” RB2 DLC from awhile back. There’s no other real hits to mine from this album, other than a mildly successful cover of “Everyday People.”

There was dlc from that the week of the bleach pack.
Here’s a suggestion: Try the “Advanced Image Search” (http://www.google.com/advanced_image_search?hl=en), search for “Album” on the site http://www.rockband.com/. Filetypes: PNG files. I’m a bit pressed for time just now, so I could just browse through without discovering anything new. Anybody else with more time on their hands?

Tried that, didn’t work. It doesn’t bring up pictures that aren’t linked with the rest of the site. I tried simply ‘Superunknown’ instead of ‘album’ and nothing came up

Try this: http://www.google.com.sg/images?as_q=&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=&as_oq=Album&as_eq=&as_sitesearch=http://www.rockband.com/&safe=images&as_st=y&tbs=isch:1,ift:png&biw=1280&bih=707
The important thing is to put “Album” into the “related to any of the words” field. Sorry. Wasn’t clear enough earlier.

Didn’t find any of the new albums (Snoop, Marley, MCR, etc.) in that display, but thanks anyway…it was helpful to see all the albums listed together in one place that way. Also found that, as expected, you can’t always use the exact album title and expect to find any results — there’s a lot of variety in their naming conventions (sometimes they abbreviate/shorten titles, sometimes use spaces, sometimes caps, etc.).
Had some weird pics towards the end, including some kind of Pokemon page from HeyRiles and (inexplicably) a screenshot of an ancient flamewar between Gowienczyk and myself….and, don’t read anything into this, but there’s also a logo for ZOSO on that page, too….

You can get excited about Dio, but Metallica — not so much (carefully read the disclaimer after the Metallica pics on RBA’s first post: “(size of the album artwork suggests it is older, probably scrapped, DLC)”)
It’s pretty unlikely that they would scrap DLC.
Just a quick heads-up about all the questions about little album art vs. big album art:
It just boils down to the year of DLC release. If you go back and check, all the album art from 2007 and 2008 is in the small format; but beginning in 2009, with Roy Orbison, they switched to the bigger pictures.
cherokeesam Reply:
September 3rd, 2010 at 12:27 am
Which means that JODIsBack, above, is absolutely right — the small pics for Metallica and other albums is absolutely NO indication that “the DLC has been scrapped.” It just means that DLC from those albums came out in 2007-2008. (Doesn’t mean HMX can’t go back to that same well….so don’t rule out the Master of Puppets rumor just yet
)

i really hope theres more underoath DLC. especially from that album.
Lame! The possibly scrapped DLC looks the best.
I remember a while back on the test side of Xbox Live (can’t remember what it’s called) an ad for Load showed up for RB. Then Guitar Hero: Metallica got picked up. :/
Looks like the secret doesn’t work anymore.
I was going to look for some Doors and Jimi albums. Did anyone else happen to check them?

I checked for The Doors self titled and Electric Ladyland but no results for either.
omg Atreyu and Dio? I HOPE!
Yup..Looks like they stopped us in our tracks. No more sleuthing for us.
I think harmonix got us.
Did anyone get to check Steely Dan albums before this got pulled? Forgot to check when I was doing the album searches realizing how RB3 is severely missing Reeling in the Years.
