Pro-Guitar Trainer Screens
A few weeks ago, we saw a leak of nearly the entire Rock Band 3 setlist (not sure if you heard about that yet). A video was released on YouTube that showed some journalists scrolling through the entire setlist of the game. While most people only remember the setlist portion of the video, there was also some video in it showing a brief glimpse of the Pro-Guitar trainer.
It is very similar to watching the tutorials the first time you tried Guitar Hero, but a little more intimidating this time around. You can see the video below queued up to the section showing the Pro-Guitar portion, and check out the pics above (click for higher-res) of the trainer in action.

I was always confused when I saw the note highway that showed just a 5. Is it a bar chord or power chord? I’m still kind of confused how they’re going to show the difference.
I’m still wondering how it will feel playing the pro-guitar and whether or not a mode traditional ‘side-scrolling’ guitar tab would be easier to read or not.

Check out Joe’s hands-on time at E3 over here on Plastic Axe. That’s about the most detail we’ve gotten so far about how the chord language works, and it’s really interesting.
Is it ridiculous that I’m basically getting excited over the tutorial for this game? Probably, but I so am…

No, I’m in the same boat.
I cannot wait to get my hands on this…
I know, based off what I’ve seen about the pro guitar, that there will be a very steep learning curve. I also bet it will be a good while before we start seeing Pro Expert FCs. Still, the fact that the trainer is going more in depth will be a great addition to the game.

I will officially be scared the day I see people pro-mode FC this stuff and complain all the music is too easy. However unlike the current harcore complainers, I will actually be able respect them.
I’m just glad that the easy mode should be playable right away, and you can progress up.
Dammit, I hope that guitar drops in price fast. I want it now.
I mean fast. Like DJ Hero fast.
