- Eric Church – Hell on the Heart
- Jamey Johnson – Women
- Josh Turner – Would You Go With Me*
- Keith Urban – Days Go By*

- Laura Bell Bundy – Rebound
- Reba McEntire – Fancy*

* Denotes Family Friendly track compatible with LEGO Rock Band.

Lady Antebellum’s Lookin’ For a Good Time! I love that song!
So getting it <33
Not a fan of any particular song/artist, but I’m happy we got this chunky country pack.
I’ll probably just pick up “Fancy”. Haven’t heard that song in so long, but people would get a kick out of it.
I was looking forward to finding out what next weeks DLC would be, but this is a let down.

You mean the fact that it’s country music (we’ve known about this for several weeks: http://rockbandaide.com/7424/country-track-pack-2-coming-out-august-31/), or the songs they choose for the pack?

I mean the fact that it’s country music. The funny thing is that I didn’t read that post because it said country pack. I don’t have anything against the people who like it but it’s just not for me.

It’s a let down for me from the song selection, especially the lady antebellum choice.
Was hoping we got more Brad Paisley too…
My family is full of country fans, so I pick these songs when they come out for Family parties. I am a Rock guy, but I find the country songs to be slightly on the difficult side for guitar.
I think it is funny that Fancy and It Happens are family friendly….I wonder if they listened to the songs before they decided that.

Haha…so true. It’s a great song tho, I’ll pick up that and the Dierks Bentley track.

Whoops. About Fancy, at least. I don’t know It Happens.

That’s right…perfect for lego rock band!
I wish they would release the track list for the Country Track Pack 2 that’s coming out in November. If all of these tracks are gonna be on there, which is likely, then I’ll just wait till then.
But VERY happy to get more country! And EXTREMELY happy to see Sugarland in the list!!!
Can’t really be saddened because I knew this was coming. Also we haven’t gotten that much country in a while so diversity is fine by me. However I just can’t get into country and appears I’ll have to wait another week.
I’m not a Country hater but I’m not naturally inclined to it so I’m pickier than most fans and quite a few of those choices, in my opinion, are horrible.
Specficially Reba, Josh Turner, Keith Urban, and Sugarland.
On the one hand, bummer. On the other, money saved.
What the hell, I’ll chime in with my honest opinion, as well. (And after reviewing what I wrote, let me say this… RANT INCOMING!)
While I’m not a fan of country music, it would be nice if there were some more “mainstream” songs that would be released as DLC. (And yes, I apologize to the country fans that think this is a good pack. I know I’m being selfish in this response, but it’s my opinion, NOT fact.) Let me explain my rationale…
For example, why not release “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum instead of the song above? I’m assuming they have reasons for the song they choose (not a good chart-worthy song, holding out for RB3 harmonies, etc.), but I guess my frustration lies with who ultimately approves the song choices for games (and I’m assuming the record companies get the ultimate say as they hold the rights to the music).
I just feel like record companies don’t fully commit to providing the bigger hits by lesser known bands, but instead “test the waters” with another song… which is TERRIBLE thinking! You want to move units of your artist’s song as DLC? Then release their big hit and not one of their deep cuts!
If the success of the Lady Gaga DLC this year taught us anything, it’s that POPULARITY drives DLC, not charting (sorry Rock Band community), so put out the POPULAR songs. They’re popular for a reason! If Harmonix moves more DLC, that’s more money and more notoriety for their product, which gives them cash and weight to swing around and ultimately possibly securing rights to holdouts such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and U2 (sorry, I like them).

Lookin for A Good Time was on of their hits (just not the biggest)
Now the Laura Bell Bundy and Jamey Johnson songs were never hits but I think they are good songs.

I have been thinking this all along. Why not put out what people want? The only thing I can think of is that they want to give a certain song a push in sales via I-Tunes, Amazon, or wherever you download your MP3′s. I have read many times on here about people going out and buying this songs MP3 before or after getting the DLC. Like with me I never would have gone out and bought the mp3 of Lacuna Coil “Swamped” before I played it on RB…but I did after playing it. I think they throw “filler” songs at you so you will be aware that this song even exists. I wonder what the MP3 sales #’s look like after a song is put out for DLC or a new game Disc comes out.

I agree with that…too many artists get added and then the big hit is not on there. I would love to know how they honestly choose songs sometime!
(& Lady A should have never come out before harmonies)

Yep, they’d definitely see better sales numbers if they used the bigger hits. Heck, I’d have picked up “Need You Now” for my wife, but I won’t be picking up “Lookin’ For a Good Time” for sure.

The only thing I can see wrong with that is if only focus on popularity and not charting all the time, they will not only loose the core community, but RB will start getting the wrong rep. We bash the GH charts for being over charted. Great charts is what drive RB and make it better than GH.
It would be great if we could get the most popular tracks. But I do trust in HMX that they know what they are doing.
@Game!Ov3r I agree. I had no idea who Lacuna Coil was until RB2. Sameway with Tokio Hotel.
Im not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but at least in my area it seems that with in one to two weeks after a DLC gets released, radio stations start playing those tracks more and more. Take “Tomorrow” by Silverchair. Song came out in ’95 and hasn’t been on the radio for years. And now for the last few months its back on the airwaves.

Agreed, which is why you wouldn’t ONLY focus on popularity. My point is that they skew SLIGHTLY more popular than they have been doing recently.
Also, Lacuna Coil is AMAZING!!!!

I think you have to consider what is mainstream in country music. Specifically looking at the Lady Antebellum song, while “Need You Now” was a huge cross over hit and would be more recognizable for non country music listeners, “Looking for a Good Time” was a huge hit on country music radio. While this pack may be split amongst recent and past hits all but the Johnson and Bundy (who are both up and comers in country music) songs are mainstream on country radio, especially if you compare it to the previous country packs that were released. If Harmonix was trying to target pop and country music enthusiasts they would have released a Crossover Country Pack, but this is to target and pay homage to country music fans.
Oh and I am not saying this because I enjoy the songs, I am far from being a mainstream country music fan… if I had my way it would be chock full of outlaw country like Jennings, Coe, Haggard, and Cash and modern “Red Dirt” and Texas country like Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Robert Earl Keen (if you don’t know em, check them out)
I’m excited for the pack (though never heard any of the songs before), but like many I’m skipping it and holding out for the Track Pack disc in November.
The question I have is whether the export will have RB3 features (harmonies, Keys, Pro Mode). If not, then it will be weird when the rest of the songs get released as DLC and don’t have all those features. But if they DO, then that may be a strong indication that HMX has plans to go back and update at least some DLC. Either way, interesting situation.

Your thinkin’s backwards. What’s on the Track Pack will be the same as what’s released as DLC. And I’m pretty sure it’s going to have harmonies. Just listen to the Lady Antebellum song. Now why would they go and release a song like that (doesn’t matter what you think of the music, just note that it has vocal harmonies) knowing RB3 is going to have vocal harmonies? When the Green Day DLC (the first pack, before GD:RB) had vocal harmonies, but it wasn’t known until they could be used with a game that supported them (GD:RB)?
Harmonix has wanted to do what we now know as Pro Mode since before RB2, they just couldn’t work it out in time. And vocal harmonies have been in the Rockband ecosystem since TB:RB last September. So it’s really not a huge stretch of the imagination to go and figure that DLC since a year or so ago (maybe even longer) already has keys, pro keys, vocal harmonies, and pro guitar/bass where appropriate. And why wouldn’t it? Because if it doesn’t, that would be a huge oversight, and I prefer to believe Harmonix is smarter than that. (Then again, we haven’t got any Nightwish yet, so how smart can they be? LOL.)

I would agree with you, but I still think any of the “legacy” DLC is going to be missing some of the new features of RB3, otherwise why would DLC released after RB3 not be backwards-compatible? I’ve mentioned it before, and had somebody semi-confirm, that I’d expect at least harmonies to be coded in recent DLC, but RB/RB2 is unable to read them (a la the Green Day DLC…but then, GD:RB was programmed with those songs in mind, so who knows?)
Fourth country pack now and still no Taylor Swift. Dammit dammit dammit!!!

Yeah that’s what I figured, but come on….they haven’t done any dlc with her and i’m pretty sure sales of band hero are over.
That Keith Urban song wouldn’t happen to be a cover of the Family Matters theme, would it? That might just save this week’s DLC.
Once again, I’m an odd one, as I like country music. I am looking forward to singing “What was I Thinkin’?” I adore that song.
I’ll try singing “Fancy”, but will likely fail, due to getting choked up every time I hear that song.
1. I advise against buying these songs because of what happened with the last country pack. The best songs are saved for and exclusive to the pack for six months. Best thing to do is just wait for the pack to drop to 20 and get it then, and export. Otherwise you just pay for songs you don’t want and/or double dip later. I paid the Country Tax last year, this year I’m a little wiser.
2. Definitely want the Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban tracks, but since we’re just gonna get the pack, obviously, we’re gonna wind up with all of them.
No PAX Pack 03? =(

The PAX Collection is always released the week after PAX, not the week before so if it’s happening (and god I hope it is… I wouldn’t say no to Freezepop Pack 02 with it too), it’ll be Sept 7′s DLC.
Still no dolly parton
3 out of 10 ain’t bad for me!
