Rock Band 3 Setlist OFFICIALLY Confirmed, DS Setlist

While last week was a whirlwind of leaks and teases, Harmonix released a press release this morning OFFICIALLY confirming that the setlist in their Gamescom video last week is the real deal for Rock Band 3. They also listed the 26 25 songs that will be appearing on the DS version of Rock Band 3. If you’re wondering why the setlist is so much smaller for the DS than the console version, it is due to the size of the media format for the platform.

I have a short hands-on video I took of it at E3 here, and for a further in-depth look, Joystiq gave a decent preview write-up of the game not too long ago.

Here are are the songs to be featured in the DS version:

For the most part, this reads like the highlights of the setlist to me are on the DS version.

I wouldn’t call Ida Maria a highlight. Of all the songs on the entire planet, they chose this one for the pleasure of how many… 10 people?

    Game!Ov3r Reply:

The Vines, Paramore, and Stripes are the only ones that interest me in the 2000′s list…otherwise the setlist is solid. I would of liked to see Centerfold on there… but oh well

I have been digging that song since before it was announced for rb3. I’m aware that it’s not the most popular song on the playlist, but I wanted to make clear that it has its fans.

Also, quoting from the press release:

“Wii has over 1,500 song tracks available for purchase on the Rock Band platform on-disc, via song import, and download.”

So it appears that the Wii will get song imports somehow!

    Game!Ov3r Reply:

AWSOME CATCH! I am wishing to import my Lego songs and RB2. I will pick up a copy of RB1 (even though my GH stuff wont work with the game, so it will solely be for export reasons, if we have to), AC/DC, and Green Day if these are exportable!

The only way I can see us doing the Exporting is maybe either a disc exchange (which would suck), a UPC mail in deal, or maybe they can somehow work it around having save files on your system memory. This should be very intersting… I really need to get that 32 g sdhc card if this is true.

It is interesting to note what they said in the press release, but don’t read too much into that yet… just don’t want anyone to be disappointed if it turns out they’ll only let you export to a 2 gb card or something. I’m sure there will be more details on that soon enough.

Am I blind? Why can’t I find that quote under the link quoted above? Can you point me there? I’m in exactly the same situation as Game!Ov3r: As I am using GH instruments (so far) on the Wii, I haven’t gotten RB1, and will order it instantly!

    Game!Ov3r Reply:

I dont know if Nintendo would allow it, but I wonder if a Rock Band Channel would ever be possible in the Wii menue. I thought a while ago I read that one of the two either RB or GH were looking into this, that way DLC and Exporting/Importing would be made more simple.

They better have confirmed it. I just got all those tracks yesterday into iTunes.

And now to loop that playlist until October. :/

Hehe, yep. Gotta prep for the vox. =)

You might be my favorite person on the planet, Xzy.

  • Game!Ov3r says:

Is there any information on if there will be Wii/DS connectivity to select setlists like you can for Band Hero?

  • Polite says:

Damn you! All I saw was Rock Band 3 Setlist confirmed. *shakes fist*

On the other hand, most of that DS setlist looks pretty solid.
