Album DLC Rumor: Metallica – Master of Puppets
Well this was a nice rumor to wake up to this morning. Word from the RockBand.com forums is that the newest copy of the Official Xbox Magazine (September issue with Dead Space 2 on the cover, page 90) is reporting in their rumors section that Rock Band will be seeing Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” album arriving as DLC in the not-to-distant future. It is my understanding that OXM has not been 100% correct on their Rock Band DLC rumors in the past, so lets factor that in to this rumor, as well.
We already have one track off the album, “Battery,” showing up in Rock Band 2. Since then , we’ve seen the release of Guitar Hero’s most critically successful artist-centric game starring Metallica. Before E3, I may have been less inclined to believe this, but Dan Teasdale mentioned to me that bands that have had their own title are not exclusive to the Guitar Hero franchise. Not confirmation, but plausibility, and when it comes to more Metallica in Rock Band, I’ll take it!
While this may be the furthest thing from confirmation, my iPod did play “Master of Puppets” first on shuffle this morning. That’s gotta be worth something, right?

Wow, I really hope this is true. Metallica’s greatest album coming to Rock Band, Yes! I won’t be able to play any of the songs, but it’ll be nice to own….
First of all, extremely excited by this (despite owning GH:Metallica and therefore all but a couple of these already).
But second of all, it was Blackened that was released as RB1 DLC, Battery was RB2 on disc
oh god. please. yes. I REQUIRE ORION. (Well, and Welcome home… and The Thing That should Not be… and… well… the rest of them.)
If I close my eyes and wish hard enough, this will come true, yes?

Stockholm Syndrome would be sick on Rock Band… forget Guitar Hero 3.
Would WMG license their music to Rock Band and risk decreasing sales of GH: Metallica for adding two tracks we can’t play?

So? Really i’d rather have uncharted drums than overcharted… GH overcharts everything to the extreme to it feels so fake you can’t even play it (Look at their guitar charts and you will see this)

I’m not a huge Metallica fan. Like some of their stuff but not all. Might pick out a couple of songs from the album if it’s released.
This is very relevant to my interests….
If this is true, i will be a very happy metal fan. That’ll be two of the big 4′s masterpiece albums in one game. (Reign In Blood and Among The Living next plox?)

My first choice would be the black album, but my tastes are more mainstream than the average Rock Band/Guitar Hero fan’s. I think Master of Puppets is an EXCELLENT choice, as well!

As a fan of guitar playing that is not necessarily always shredding at blinding speed, I would love some more from the Loads.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Reign in Blood is very likely. Angel of Death was supposed to be in GHM, but Microsoft had a problem with the subject matter.

Now now, I wouldn’t sneeze if they offered up Frantic, Some Kind of Monster, and Invisible Kid….after everything else has been released first, of course.
I want the whole discography… MoP is far from my favourite. Indeed I’d rather have Black Album first – I want Sandman back.
I’d rather have this after RB3 comes out, with Pro Guitar and Bass. Still, whatever Harmonix has planned, can’t be changed anymore. Better now than never.
This is beyond Awesome. I have GH metallica, but rarely play it because well, it’s GH. Charting will be SO much better by Harmonix….and I hated that the GH game didn’t have Leper Messiah, which I LOVE. Can’t wait.
master of puppets is the best metallica albums. i would kill to get this to happen!

I love Metallica more than any of you but i have to say your all wrong. This is not Metallicas best album, that would be Kill em All. I also consider Ride the Lightning to be better than Master of Puppets. I might even put And Justice For All above Puppets. But Master of Puppets is still an awesome album and even though i have almost all these songs alredy ill buy them twice just because.
Im still waiting for Kill em All. An album that i think would be the greatest possible album that could be made dlc ever.
