Swag Week Trivia Starts TODAY!
Let’s give away from Rock Band swag, huh?! Congratulations goes out to Ed for his suggestion:
“Show a brief segment of a notechart and try to have people guess the song.”
Great idea, Ed! Because of that, Ed gets his choice first from the prize closet! You guys all had amazing ideas, but I wanted to do something that rewarded people who knew alot about the songs from the game. Having people dress up or upload pictures or videos is awesome, but difficult, potentially cost-prohibitive, and somewhat overkill for winning a t-shirt. I’ll keep the ideas in mind for future contests, though!
Throughout the rest of the week, I’ll be giving away nearly everything I’ve got left! I recently choose songs randomly from the Rock Band catalog (including on-disc and DLC tracks, but excluding RBN to keep it fair) and pulled videos of song charts. For each video, I silenced, cropped, and dropped the video quality to make it very difficult to tell what the song is. Some will be VERY easy… some will be (in my opinion) next to impossible. The first person to reply with the correct song title (including whether it’s LIVE or a COVER version) in the comments section wins their choice of whatever is left from the available prizes.
Because I don’t want people to complain about not being around during the giveaways, here is a timetable of when the questions will be posted on the site (all times are CENTRAL):
- Question 1 – 3:00 PM Wednesday
- Question 2 – 7:00 PM Wednesday
- Question 3 – 9:00 PM Wednesday
- Question 4 – 10:00 AM Thursday
- Question 5 – 2:00 PM Thursday
- Question 6 – 7:00 PM Thursday
- Question 7 – 10:00 AM Friday
- Question 8 – 1:00 PM Friday
- Question 9 – 3:00 PM Friday
Remember, the contests this week are US only (shipping 10 items alone is gonna cost me)!
UPDATE: While it’s not really cool to change the terms of the contest, I’m doing it anyway, so nyah! Just to spread the wealth as much as possible, if you’ve won so far this week, you cannot win again (starting with Question 5).

Yeah, some are RIDICULOUSLY hard… and some are INSANELY easy. All different types of clips, too. Should be cool… I hope!

Quick question: If we were to pay shipping ourselves, could non-US people enter. I’d love to try and wouldn’t mind covering shipping on a t-shirt

No, it will be a separate post for each video. I’ve got all 9 questions and videos already scheduled, so I don’t even need to be around for them to post and have people respond! It SHOULD be fairly fool proof, but we know how that goes!
