Thursday Throwback DLC: Kiss – Calling Dr. Love
I’m my constant quest for providing new content for the site, I present you with a new and (hopefully) recurring feature called Thursday Throwback. Each week, we’ll be highlighting a song released as DLC for Rock Band a long time ago. A song that many people may have passed over for some reason, and should go back and revisit if they are looking for something “new.”
In its inaugural week, I choose a song that I can’t seem to get away from every time I forget to fast forward through commercials. Dr. Pepper was looking for a new way to promote their Dr. Pepper Cherry soda, and who would have thought Kiss would be interesting in helping them promote? Well, since I can’t get it out of my head, I figure I would let everyone else share in my enjoyment of the song by featuring it here as a DLC throwback. This week’s pick is Kiss – Calling Dr. Love. Check out the full band gameplay video below, courtesy of Ali, Matt, Random, and Josh from B.O.M.B. (Thanks, you guys!)
The song can be purchased in the Rock Band 2 music store, or online at Xbox.com, for 160 MSP ($1.99).

You know you want to show the Fratellis some Dr. Love next week =P
Interesting. Will look forward to this weekly
I haven’t gotten this one yet. I think I’m waiting for Strutter or a song that features tons of Paul Stanley banter.
I remember getting this when it was released. Strutter would be great on RB as Jason said.
to be truthfull, i only got this DLC because of the Dr. Pepper Commercial.
Great feature idea!
The thing that bugs me though is that with old DLC like this the drums especially are undercharted
Can hear more snare in the verses, faint but noticeable.
Does it make me a bad person if I need my videos on Expert to enjoy them?
By the way, great track and great guitar solo. Now I’m just hoping for some KISS on-disc for Rock Band 3!

If it does then I’m a bad person too. I can’t stand easy/medium speed videos.
