Add FIVE More Songs to the Rock Band 3 Setlist Rumor Train

As per usual, let’s keep this in the rumor column for now, but it looks like a leaked Rock Band 3 international trailer from EA shows five new songs previously unannounced for Rock Band 3, which are:

  • Blood, Sweat, & Tears – Spinning Wheel
  • Chicago – 25 to 6 or 4
  • Faith No More – Midlife Crisis
  • INXS – Need You Tonight
  • T.Rex – 20th Century Boy

It also “confirms” the export of Rock Band 2. Until we hear officially from Harmonix, assume it’s a rumor, but looks pretty legit to me. Here’s the leaked video on YouTube video: Here’s the leaked video from 1up.com: OK, third time’s a charm… Strike three!

Still hoping for a J-Rock song in there. And in DLC, of course.

    Gokuroro Reply:

By the way… I think I’ll keep refreshing this… the first time I opened this news there was only 4 more songs… maybe if I refresh like 50 times we’ll have all the setlist. :P

  • killer_roach says:

Other than the choice of Chicago songs, looking pretty good…

  • Tim says:

Looks like Just Dance by Lady GAGA is another RB3 Track (paused at :20)

    Kirksplosion Reply:

    That’s already DLC.

  • Croq says:

Wait a minute, aren’t Just Dance and 20th Century Boy both DLC tracks currently?

    RockBandAide Reply:

Just Dance is DLC already. T.Rex has two other songs (one’s a cover) as DLC already, but not this one.

    Croq Reply:

Apparently I confused it with “21st Century Digital Boy”, which is a great song too, btw.

  • chedita says:

well i’m glad their adding some chicago regardless.

  • Croq says:

Looks like this is there too:

The White Stripes – The Hardest Button to Button

    chedita Reply:

    that was already confirmed

    Croq Reply:

    Oops, sorry… :)

  • moose39 says:

I’m losing my mind here, 25 or 6 to 4 is the one song I’ve wanted in Rock Band since the beginning. Oh man, I feel euphoric.

    txhoudini Reply:

I’m right with you, man. One of the best songs of all time. Will be great to play at a party or with a big group of people.

    SaikoSakura Reply:

Fantastic song. So excited for Chicago.

  • Michael Prachar says:

Wow – I can’t believe they are going so far back in time! I have hazy memories of Spinning Wheel from being a kid in my parent’s car… So will they chart the horns and woods to the guitar or the keys? Hmmmm….

And all the pre-80′s love-pop-ballad Chicago rocks so I’m pretty happy about that.

Sometimes it can be good to be old!

  • DJ-MAT says:

Bad songs…. strange for me. I usually don’t like the disc tracklist.

By the way, to Rock Band Aide (the questions form is dead xD):

Formspring is still working for me. If not, try the ABOUT page, or hit me up on Twitter.

As for the Slash thing, I didn’t post for two reasons:
    1. It’s hard to say whether this is true or not, and corroborating this is not possible.
    2. It’s news that songs are NOT coming to Rock Band. There’s a LOT of songs NOT coming to Rock Band… I prefer to post stories about the ones that do.

  • Matt says:

Well, confirms export for 360 anyway. I’m still hoping for the Wii (as they love to screw us over).

    RockBandAide Reply:

The only person screwing you over on the Wii is Nintendo for not putting a hard drive in there.

    SamPlasticGamer Reply:

You can export on the guitar hero games on too an sd card, so no, not this time, this time it would be harmonix

    RockBandAide Reply:

The Guitar Hero games were also released AFTER the Rock Band games (remember, RB2 is at LEAST two years old in terms of development age), so they had access to updated Nintendo architecture. Rock Band 3 SHOULD fix all that.

  • DJ-MAT says:

    Video already deleted.

  • toymachine says:

So happy about the Faith No More pick.

    Chucklestyle Reply:

Same here. Here’s hoping for a pack from them finally. As much as Angel Dust album DLC would be killer, a solid 12 pack would be better (not that they’re big enough to justify a 12 pack… but I can dream can’t I?)

  • CloudWolf says:

“It also “confirms” the export of Rock Band 2″

Rock Band 2 export was confirmed by Harmonix a while ago, I quote: [quote]The Rock Band 3 disc soundtrack contains 83 of the best bands from around the world, including bands that have never appeared in a music game, as well as support for existing Rock Band tracks (Rock Band and Rock Band 2 discs, downloaded songs, track packs, AC/DC Live: Rock Band™ Track Pack, LEGO® Rock Band and Green Day: Rock Band™). CloudWolf Reply:

Goddammit, quote-tags don’t work on this site :(

    RockBandAide Reply:

One of the things I’m working on fixing soon.

As for the Rock Band 2 export, there was confusion at E3 when they were backing off that statement. I can’t imagine it won’t be exportable, but maybe there’s some problems getting the licensing issues for a song or two.

  • skydog says:

Don’t like any of those really. But chicago is a decent band.

  • Fuelie79 says:

Sweet! I’ve wanted INXS and “Midlife Crisis” in Rock Band for a long time now! Finally they choose a better Faith No More song.

  • Witticus says:

Super stoked for T. Rex, Chicago, and Faith No More! Some of my favorite songs by these bands!

  • comp says:

    Did anybody snag the video?

    RockBandAide Reply:

I’ve got it… Trying to figure out where to host it…

  • DeQ says:

That video got taken down fast. Well, it’s good to know this game is getting more classics.

As for FNM, I would have chosen From out of Nowhere over Midlife Crisis.

  • HeyRiles says:

Well that’s a handful of songs that don’t currently interest me in the slightest. I’m a little worried about that

  • RedDevil17 says:

Try out the following link to see the trailer….Enjoy!!!

  • Antwon says:

Ooh, Spinning Wheel! Awesome if true – that’s been on my “oldies I’d love to see filter into the game eventually” list for a good long while now. Though I have no idea how you’d chart the end of the song where all the instruments just sort of delve into cacophony. Probably have it all swallowed up by a Big Rock Ending, I guess.

  • JQTNguyen says:

Gameplay at around 0:36 seems to also further confirm that vocals have no effect on scoring in any way, shape, or form. It’s a video of All Instruments Mode, the bar on the left is Full and Green, but the Vocals are “Failing Out.”

  • Kirksplosion says:

Best thing to me about that trailer? It looks polished enough to be very, very close to completion. =D

    SaikoSakura Reply:

From what I read on Teasdale’s blog it’s down to 0 bugs!

  • Chucklestyle says:

Also in this video: sort by “acquired” and a “recently acquired” sort. Does this mean you can sort by date purchased?

    PyramidHead Reply:

I think Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4″ is the closest thing to Led Zeppelin that we’re ever going to have in Rock Band.

    PyramidHead Reply:

Oops, didn’t mean to reply to that comment.
    :(

  • chedita says:

btw I looked at the video again and at 1:09 where it says quickplay party tour one of the setlists are titled hell freezes over hopefully that means some eagles.

  • Hanzo says:

About time they added INXS. Now let’s see some Depeche Mode.

  • comp says:

This video has been taken down everywhere else, surprised HMX hasn’t gotten in touch already.

    RockBandAide Reply:

One of the perks of coming to this site for Rock Band news, I guess! ;)

  • Colin says:

How the heck are they gonna chart “Spinning Wheel?” It turns into pure jazz in the middle with a horn solo, and then wigs out with faux-calliope at the end. Hadn’t heard that song in ages, and I forgot how freaky it is. It’s a cool song, but that odd instrumentation doesn’t really seem like a prime choice for on-disc.
