DLC for 7/6: Creedence Clearwater Revival?

Heard about this early this morning, but was FINALLY able to get some sort of confirmation only recently. In Major Nelson’s “Major Minute” (only available on the Xbox 360 right now, not elsewhere online yet), there is a quick mention of a Creedence Clearwater Revival pack coming for 1600 MSP.

You can see the misspelling in the screenshot grabbed above from FyreWulff on Scorehero.com. I’m assuming this is intended to play off the discounted DLC packs coming that week. Considering this video ran on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live, this “rumor” is most probably legit, but just wanted to point that out.

I’m assuming it’s an album (my gut tells me “Pendulum”), but it could be a random pack with about 11 or 12 songs. We’ll probably have to wait until tomorrow morning for official confirmation from Harmonix.

[Thanks @BassGrooveBlue for the heads up!]

Bah! It’s a cheap CCR cover band

  • Kirksplosion says:

Darn. I wish this could have waited until after the RB3 release, but I’m still very happy about it. CCR has been sorely missing. =)

  • Explosion2 says:

    YES! This would be amazing!

  • Your welcome for the heads up :D

The reason I would assume it isn’t Pendulum is that the original run of Pendulum is a 10-track album, meaning absolutely no discount if you bought the full album or the pack.

“Cosmo’s Factory,” however, had eleven tracks. It’s one better.

Actually an album/pack with 12 songs would make much more sense. Many of 12-packs are prices at 1600, which gives buyers 2 songs free. The biggest exception is of course RHCP’s BSSM (1600 for 16 songs).

wtf is Clearance Clearwater Revival? lol

    The Witticus Reply:

It’s the band someone must have misspelled a million times when they spammed the Rock Band request box. So look forward to Clearance’s hits. “Fortune Sun” “Bad Moon Rinsing” “Proud Marty” and the party classic “Dune on the Cougar”

    You win.

I’m gonna say Cosmo’s Factory. 11 tracks, including Travelin’ Band, Lookin’ Out My Back Door, Up Around the Bend, Who’ll Stop the Rain, etc.

God, I hope so. The 11-minute Heard it Through the Grapevine would be fantastic, too. Although I wonder if the presence of covers like that would make it difficult to get the rights for any given album.

    Toad3000 Reply:

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Since it’s just referred to as a “pack” of CCR, it’s probably an assorted pack of songs. I hope the ones I named off Cosmo’s Factory are included though.

If true, I will get this the second it’s available!!!

Btw, did anyone else notice the screen says, “Rock Band: Clearance Clearwater Revival Pack”?

    RockBandAide Reply:

I did… you can see it in the post above. :P

  • Tim says:

There’s also the possibility the pack is just named Clearance Clearwater Revival pack as a pun of CCR, and only contains a bunch of random cheap tracks.

Of course, CCR right around the 4th of July is pretty freaking awesome.

  • skydog says:

No thank you i’ll pass.. never liked em. This most likely IMO is garbage like the past 2 weeks.

You can say whatever you like; everyone has their own opinion. And, I love Miley, Nickelback, AND CCR! The past month before this I’ve been completely asleep as far as DLC, but these past two weeks have greatly hurt my wallet. I love all of these bands we’ve gotten recently, but still, I think we all can agree CCR is on a different level completely from Miley and Nickelback. They’re not just simply garbage… They’ve had an important part in Rock History where the others haven’t (as much).

    Kirksplosion Reply:

Yep. Some consider them to be “America’s Beatles”. I definitely love their stuff, and will buy this whole pack.

    skydog Reply:

Just saying.. I’m not buying anything for another week.. geesh… :|
I really don’t care about their history though if I really can’t stand their music.. :\

    LoopyChew Reply:

There’s a difference between “I can’t stand their music” and “It’s garbage.” One’s an opinion. The other’s an insult.

    DeQ Reply:

I’m not going to call them garbage but I didn’t expect to see so much excitement over this pack. I’m a huge fan of classic rock but CCR just doesn’t do it for me. It all sounds the same in my opinion, which makes it funny to me that we’re getting a massive dose of them in one shot.

  • Matt says:

I’d bet its a bunch of songs off of Chronicle, probably all the popular ones. But that’s just a guess.

    LoopyChew Reply:

Seeing as Chronicle is a best-of collection of CCR tracks, wouldn’t that be all of them?

  • kangaroo62 says:

Meh, I might pick up a few. I’m not a huge fan of them , but some of their songs sound fun.

  • chedita says:

about f*ckin time!!! I was just saying the other day “we need ccr in rock band”.
