Where the Party At?! Sony Showing Additional Miley Cyrus DLC Song
Not sure if we’ve beat this Miley Cyrus DLC issue to death yet, but as a big “non-fan” of hers, I have to admit that like many of you I have at heard and am somewhat familiar with her “hit” “Party in the U.S.A.,” mostly due to the large flash mob at nearby Marquette University. But I have to admit that I was surprised when I didn’t see the track listed among the other DLC songs of hers. Once I saw it missing, my fear was that it was going to be on the Rock Band 3 disc (and it still may), but a few rumors have been popping up that it should have been DLC.
I first from @TheChrisGlass that using a hack to view the Xbox 360 Miley Cyrus DLC pack, you can see that “Party in the U.S.A.” should have been included.
Now @toymachinesh has pointed out a link on the official Playstation site that “Party in the U.S.A.” was clearly supposed to be part of the track pack, or at least available for download.
UPDATE: @BillTVShow sent me the link to the thread over at Scorehero where “rastabot1″ was able to purchase the DLC pack in its entirety with “Party in the U.S.A.” (also officially listed in the PS3 pack here), as well as post a video of the song in-game! I checked, and this is DEFINITELY different than the custom Miley song from awhile back.
Is it possible that it was pulled from the pack to add to Rock Band 3? Would this change your impression of Rock Band 3 (“OMG, I’m totally not buying RB3 becuz of this!!1!”)? And should we stop reporting on Miley Cyrus now?

thanks to Dogmatic for pointing this out
I feel like this almost confirms “Party in the USA” for Rock Band 3…well, at least my nieces will be happy. That’s silver lining, right?
I’m a stable, non-insane person, so this doesn’t change my impression of Rock Band 3.
Also, report what you have to report – Miley Cyrus or not.
I heard that the Party in the USA song data is there in the miley pack for the 360. 2 different people with modded xboxes say that its included and fully playable on a modded 360.

Wait, the song ITSELF is included in the 360 pack?! I just heard the data tags were included for it, not the song itself. If this is true, wow!
yep it’s going to affect whether I buy it. So far Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock setlist is killing RB3, they just announced rush’s 2112.

Personal opinion. It’s no doubt that GH:WoR’s setlist is favoring their expert+ loving fan base / rock music elitists. (I’m not saying that like it’s a bad thing by the way, but they definitely have deeper cuts and ridiculous guitar solos that the normal person wouldn’t recognize.) Obviously I’m biased for Rock Band, but I think RB3′s track listing so far is MUCH more quality mainstream and accessible for the average person.
I would be disappointed if Miley was on disc, but the way the game plays, you can filter it so you would never see the song.

I still don’t understand this idea of “either or” with rhythm games. It seems that this sort of thinking only occurs in this genre. You never hear someone trying to decide between two really great looking shooters. “Hey! They both look great, I’ll grab both!”
I prefer Rock Band by a pretty great margin, but I’ll still pick up Guitar Hero 6 at some point…

This article should sum up why, even should GH67 have the greatest setlist of all time, it’d still be the same old, same old:
http://gamerlimit.com/2010/06/e310-guitar-hero-warriors-of-rock-underwhelming-to-say-the-least/
That is, outside of the game not even including harmonies, and of course completely without keyboard. I hope you’ll enjoy the game, but to me, it looks pretty dreadful.
Here’s to next year, when Activision revolutionizes the rhythm genre with their Team Singing & Pianoboard features! (I’m also looking forward to when GH:Studio is made relevant/usable, or when it allows actual bands to get actual content into the game… a pipedream, surely.)
Would have no effect on my impressions of RB3. Do I want her stuff on the disc? Not really but there were songs in RB1 & RB2 that I didn’t really want. I’m not one of the psycho people from various RB forums that expects the entire setlist to cater to me.
Isn’t this the reason they’re adding filtering, anyway?
I really doubt that HMX would add songs to the RB3 setlist at this point, it’s probably just delayed.
I was wondering where that song was!
Maybe you should switch to a only Miley Cyrus website! Let’s start the campaign for Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana Rock Band!
The only problem I’d have with that song being in RB3 is that it would be very difficult to hide its existence from my little sister. I’ve managed to not tell her about the DLC so far.
but if it was in there, you gotta admit it would be a HIT at parties.
It was originally supposed to be in the pack but Dr. Luke, the producer of the track wouldn’t clear it at the last second. It won’t be in RB3. Things like this happen with licensing. This is from a source that I have at the label. Take it as you will.
The RB3 setlist has already been decided. It’s not likely that Party in the U.S.A. was pulled in the last minute for RB3 inclusion. It’ll show up later as DLC, and this is probably why the PS3 didn’t get a pack – because of how long it takes Sony to approve DLC, there wasn’t time to re-upload a DLC pack of only five Miley songs

THIS! This makes 100% sense.
Well, I hope it’s not included in RB3 because of a certain friend that will constantly pick it.
But hey, if I can set a global filter then no harm done.
I’d seriously question Harmonix if it’s part of the RB3 setlist, but I would still buy it. But that’s probably not the case, so I’ll just not buy it as DLC. Easy!
OMG, there are worse songs in both RB1 and RB2 right now, let alone some of the slop already in the Rock Band store.
Whether or not its in RB3, it wont matter. I’ll still be getting RB3.
To answer your questions:
Yes, it’s possible it was pulled to put in RB3.
No, I’ll buy RB3 whether it’s on there or not.
It really doesn’t matter whether you keep writing about this or not. People will still say the same stuff they’ve been saying for the past couple of weeks, and the really obscene comments will probably still be deleted.
I would be annoyeed that it could be on the disc, but the keyboard and pro mode makes it no big deal to me. Besides the setlist is very good imo.
Further proving it’s not a custom, I have it as well.
