Activision Reacts to Rock Band 3 Announcement
I guess I should have assumed this was coming.
FYI, don’t kill the messenger… but this is pretty damn funny.

I hope this symbolizes the actual situation at Activision. I don’t think anyone will call Guitar Hero innovative now.
If RB3 gets beat out, there is something wrong with this world.
That was PERFECT. HAHA, I laughed so hard!!!!!
Ahaha, this is amazing <3
I agree with Fuelie79. Rock Band wins.
Not too big a fan of Green Day, but I’d still choose RB: GD over DJ Hero any day!

Well… I like Green Day and everything, but I used to DJ in college, and even though I didn’t rush out and buy it, I REALLY liked DJ Hero. And Green Day with “Rock Band” instruments vs. techno/dance/hip-hop with turntable instruments… It’s not really a fair comparison to compare the two, honestly.
dammit, you twitter people need to stop taunting me with fake activision responses. First School of Rock, now this.
This video had to be the truth.
Gaytar Hero will soon be dead, yay
Guitar Hero wont die. They have a more worldwide brand name than Rock Band. Only people really into these things will even care there is a keyboard. Your little kid wants a music game you as a parent (with no knowledge of video games) would buy guitar hero because thats whats advertised everywhere.

Ash is right… or was right. Guitar Hero has historically had stronger worldwide brand name recognition (mostly thanks to Harmonix creating such a powerful franchise and Activision for the deluge of iterations), at least up until the Beatles. I think Rock Band 3 is going to catapult ahead of it’s competitor if it’s marketed (and distributed) correctly worldwide.

If? That’s a big IF. So far the game has been incredibly poorly marketed (and distributed outside the US. Is RB2 even officially for sale in Australia yet?
In New Zealand every Guitar Hero release gets weeks (months sometimes) of intensive advertising. Rock Band never gets anything. I was in a local store on Friday, GH posters and product displayed quite prominently didn’t see anything RB related (not even GD).
They are going to have to do a lot better, but they’ve set the bar pretty low right now.
Do we really need to gay bash in order to let people know which music game we prefer?

Took the words right out of my mouth.
As for the video, brilliant. That was hilarious.
