A Twitter Conversation
I have the same banana hammock, but I wouldn't be caught dead with a Les Paul.
You know I love you guys, right? You guys are the best, and without you, this site would basically be the online equivalent of me talking to myself. Well, sometimes I have contests, because I like to giveaway stuff as a sign of appreciation for people checking out the site. And one of the ways I’ve been giving them away is via Twitter. I’ve got over 4,000 followers now, so I’ve rationalized that it’s probably the best and fastest way to shotgun messages to the community… as well as everyone else out there. I’ve learned over the past year that as good of a communication medium Twitter is at getting messages out, it may not be the best platform for contests for true fans…
The name has been changed to protect the “innocent,” and please don’t be a bigger douche than I am for running this by tracking the person down and harassing them; I think they’ve learned their lesson. So with that out of the way, I present you with, a Twitter conversation:
Me: Looking for Rock Band fans (not just fans of Twitter contests) to try and win a free copy of Green Day: Rock Band!
Person X: What’s wrong with Rock Band Twitter contest fans?
Me: …why would you ask that? I just want lots of Rock Band fans to enter.
Person X: LOL! I know, I was just thinking that there are alot of Rock band fans that like contests! I spend $30/week on CD’s!
Me: Cool! What’s your best FC so far? Mine’s “Charlene!” 
Person X: Just got the new STP, pretty good so far. Slash has surprised me the most for being better than I thought it wood! Ozzy dun no
Me: Yeah, those are CDs …I was taking about in the game.
Person X: Boy do I know how to get my wires crossed! LOL!
Me: LOL, no worries. So what’s your best (or favorite, I guess) FC?
Person X: Van Halen!

I’m guessing he has no idea what an FC is, and possibly Rock Band. However, that begs the question why he’s following you on Twitter.
I’m pretty sure that guy doesn’t know that Rock Band is a video game. He thought you were just talking about bands that play rock music!

That’s what I assumed. Her Twitter feed is nothing but contest spam. Not only do they have no idea what an FC is, they have no idea what Rock Band is.
