Enter the Polk Audio Contest for Some Amazing Gear!
Consumer audio electronics maker Polk Audio recently came out with a gaming stage monitor that apparently is designed to work very well with Rock Band 2. To help promote their new product, Polk Audio is running the “Rock The House – The Ultimate 3-D Gaming Giveaway” national promotion in conjunction with the launch of its new HitMaster gaming stage monitor. The promo gives gamers the chance to win up to $5,000 in prizes, including HitMaster speakers, a Mitsubishi 60″ 3-D Ready DLP HDTV, XpanD DLP-Link Stereoscopic Active 3-D Glasses, a Sony PlayStation 3, Rock Band 2, and more. I have a LOT of Rock Band gear at my house: multiples bundles across multiples consoles, portable drumsets, MadCatz guitars, stage kits… you name it. But this is the one thing I still don’t have (and if you’re reading this from Polk Audio, feel free to contact me here… Just sayin’)!

I love how they’re playing the game in front of the speaker. This pic is clearly not to advertise Rock Band, they could at least market their own product.
These things seem pointless if you already have decent surround sound system. And if you’re going to win a 60″ HD TV as a prize, why not buy a surround sound system to go with it. Maybe they’re useful if you’re a kid playing in the basement on a small TV.
