New Songs on RB: Metal Track Pack?

According to some sleuthing on the Rock Band message boards, it looks like someone has been able to find some references to new songs not currently listed as DLC via the Xbox 360 achievements on the Rock Band Metal Pack disc. A French site appears to be listing all the achievements for the still unreleased game. Chalk it up as a rumor for now until it is confirmed, but I can’t wait to get my hands on this one! The (potential) new tracks are listed below, but check out the links above to see the rumored rest of the songs from the game, as well as the possible achievements:
- Motorhead – Killed by Death
- Hawkwind – Master of the Universe
- Blue Oyster Cult – Transmaniacon MC
- Nazareth – Hair of the Dog

You have no idea how excited I am for the Hawkwind and Nazareth tracks, personally.

I’m not familiar with the Hawkwind song (maybe if I heard it, I might know it), but I really wanna play that Nazareth tune. Whenever I hear it, I always think of this old Conan O’Brien sketch called “A Hole Ronald.” The songs’ playing in the background, as a guy dressed up like a surly Ronald McDonald goes around and slaps people’s fast food out of their hands. Random, but pretty funny!
I’m sorry, but I’m calling BS on the achievements at least. If one is bogus, then it’s likely the others are as well.
There’s an achievement listed for completing a song with eyes closed. How in the heck is the Xbox meant to know you have your eyes closed, and award the achievement accordingly? Unless they’ve integrated performance mode, it’s an impossibility.
Sorry to rain on your parade there, and I’ll happily eat my words if this is real. I just can’t see it working.
Redion, either it’s a tongue in cheek joke at how easy that song is to FC on vocals (hint: it’s all talkies), or as you stated, performance mode. I seriously doubt those achievements are bogus, though. Take a look at the icons; those are some previously used RB2 / RBTP achievement icons mixed in with some new and appropriate ones (“Double Crossed”, “Enter The Gates”). If it’s a fake, it’s pretty convincing.
@RedIon The song is called “Blinded by Fear”. Does the “eyes closed” reference make any more sense now? BLINDED by Fear.
@S1ckH4nds I can’t believe you didn’t pick up on that one.
