Only a week remaining until PAX East is a GO! And I just thought I would throw this little morsel out there to further whet your appetites for the awesomeness that is sure to ensue next weekend.

PAX East will be having a Rock Band 2 tournament starting on Friday and culminating in it’s rocking conclusion on Sunday with the final four bands battling it out on the Rock Band Stage.  So form your bands on Friday and play from a list of approved songs (after the break) to qualify before 1 AM Friday night/Saturday morning.  Only the top 32 qualifying scores will make it into Saturday’s tournament!

Matches will be announced on Saturday morning, with the lower seed in each match choosing a song from RB1, RB2, and LEGO:RB (not including Green Grass and High Tides, Panic Attack, and Painkiller) to play. Higher seed plays the same song. Whoever gets the higher score (on any difficulty) wins. The match is repeated with the higher seed choosing the second song.  If there is a tie after the two songs, a random song is chosen for the tie-breaker, and the process is repeated.

Stock RB2 equipment is used until the final matches on Saturday, when an Ion drumkit will be swapped in.

And yes… it is purely SCORE based.
