Official Green Day: Rock Band Price/Release Date
A press release just went out (and it looks like a post on the forums, as well) that the official release date will indeed be June 8th, 2010. The game will have a simultaneous release across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The price for Xbox 360 and PS3 will be $59.99 and $49.99 for the Wii.
There is also a $69.99 version coming out for the Xbox 360 and PS3 (in the US and Canada only) that includes “special packaging, export, and six Green Day DLC tracks.”
The game will include over 100 collectible images, similar to the Beatles: Rock Band, as well as more than 40 minutes of rare and unreleased video from interviews, outtakes, and performances.
The game will ship with 47 tracks (and some tracks may contain more than one song… see the previous post below). As announced here earlier, all 47 are fully exportable into other Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and Rock Band 3 (which in theory means that all other Rock Band DLC will be supported in Rock Band 3).
Also of note is the fact that the six Green Day DLC tracks already available can be played in Green Day: Rock Band with added vocal harmonies, unique performance visuals, and exclusive archival material.
Green Day: Rock Band is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB, which means those dirty words will probably be edited out.
UPDATE: @HMXHenry reached out to me to let me know this VERY tantalizing tidbit: If you pre-order the game from GameStop, it comes with a FREE code to export the songs on launch day into Rock Band! If you’re going to get the non-special version, it seems like a no brainer to get it from GameStop!

Cna I only export if I buy the special edition?

No, the special edition comes with an export token. If you buy the normal version, you’ll have to purchase the export token separately. To get around that, just pre-order at Gamestop and get the token for free!
>the six Green Day DLC tracks already available can be played in Green Day: Rock Band with added vocal harmonies
This is the BIG news here. This means that, should RB3 support harmonies (and if it doesn’t, Harmonix has some ‘splaining to do), that ALL appropriate DLC could get harmonies as well.
And as for RBN, well, since I see no reason for the RB3 midi format to be anything but a superset of the RB2 format (i.e. RB2 will ignore any and all RB3-only data), that would mean minor modifications to the charts would get them harmonies as well.
But $60? OK, it’s for 47 tracks, but daymn.

It’s 47 tracks, but remember, some of the tracks may be more than one song!
@Francesco In reality its going to be somewhere around 50-53 songs. A lot of Green Day’s songs are combined musically but are separate tracks on the albums. If you like to drum, you’ll get your monies worth
Besides, I would pay $1,000 for this game. Just saying.
Giddy like a school girl! Will definitely buy the special edition…and not surprising, I will probably retract my earlier statement about waiting for the price to drop before picking this up.
Looking forward to playing this on day 1.
Very Positive news about the pre-order and the harmonies. Once the gamestop site has the pre-order bonus export listed I will put mine in.
This is a magnificent article, im thankful I stumbled onto it. Ill be back again later on to check out other posts that you have on your blog.
