First Green Day: Rock Band Songs Revealed
The Game Developers Conference is going on out west this week, and with it comes a chance for many developers to show off some of their new wares, and Harmonix is no different. They had a chance last night to demo some of their next release, Green Day: Rock Band. According to what I’m seeing over at IGN, it appears that the in-game trio looks, moves, and sings just as they do in real life (no surprise when compared to the amount of detail that was contributed to The Beatles: Rock Band).
I’ve heard reports that the game will differ slightly from the Beatles game, in that Green Day will less of a chronological history of the band, and instead focus on more iconic performances throughout their career instead.
IGN is also tentatively reporting the same release date and pricing I discovered, June 8, 2010 for $59.99. The game will be fully exportable to the Xbox 360 and PS3 (not the Wii… sorry guys, kinda difficult when you don’t have a hard drive).
Finally, Harmonix released six songs that will be featured in the game:
- “Brain Stew”/”Jaded” (played together)
- “Hitchin’ a Ride”
- “Wake Me Up When September Ends”
- “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”
- “American Idiot”
Sound off in the comments!

Why Do People Feel The Need To Type Like This?
lol
Well they chose their popular songs at least so that should do well. Personally I’ll be passing on this game.. just not into one band games.. and while I was a fan of Green Day in like Jr. High their resent stuff is a bit too weak for my harder tastes ;P
Brain Stew + Jaded is going to rock your fucking socks. Hitchin’ a Ride is also going to be a shit ton of fun.
Yeah, I never really got into Green Day. Maybe if I was a bit younger they would have caught on with me. I don’t see any way that I’d spend $60 on this game. The Beatles was a whole different story and if Hendrix happens, I’ll probably cough that up. Just don’t think Green Day is worth it. Maybe if it was like the AC/DC pack.
This game just got an instant buy for having Brain Stew/Jaded. I mean, I was gonna buy it anyway, but now I’m ridiculously excited and just might have to get it day one. I effing LOVE those songs/that song.
Probably going to do the same thing I did with Lego Rock Band – pre-order, buy, export, trade-in. xD
