Rock Band Music Store
There was some discussion of this a few months back when the most recent Xbox update was going live, and it now appears that it is true. Available now, you can download the Rock Band Music Store “game” for your Xbox 360 console. It arrived early this morning, and isn’t something you actually play, rather another way to more easily find, purchase, and download DLC tracks for the Rock Band games. It’s classified in the marketplace as a game, as it runs stand alone from Rock Band, and obviously has no achievements.

I haven’t had a chance to try this out yet, but it gives you three different Rock Band stores (one for regular Rock Band, one for the Beatles: Rock Band, and one featuring songs playable in Lego Rock Band). The usual track information is there, (artist, title, album, artwork, and difficulty), as well as what games the specific track is compatible with. And if you want to check it out, watch @S1ckH4nds’ video walkthrough above!
If you want to queue it up on your Xbox 360 now, head on over to download it via this link here.
Expect to hear an official announcement from Harmonix about this later in the day today. No word yet on whether the PS3 or Wii will eventually have similar similar Rock Band music stores.
[Thanks to Shagrath for the heads up!]

Nice! I had totally forgotten about this. Sounds cool. I’ll have to check it out tonight.
I’d give my left nut for an easier way to get DLC for the Wii. I might just end up buying an Xbox 360, since the Mad Catz Fender bass for Wii I ordered over a year ago still hasn’t shipped
Same thing’s up for Guitar Hero: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/22/guitar-hero-vip-pass-is-your-waypoint-for-dlc
