DLC for the Week of December 22nd
As next week is Christmas… wait, already?! I need to start my Christmas shopping soon! Anyway, as I’m preparing this post without any knowledge of next week’s DLC, I’ve really got my fingers crossed for a Trans-Siberian Orchestra three pack. Now, I’m normally not a big fan of Christmas music… with the obvious exception of Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC. I’m pretty sure it’s been scientifically proven at this point that the song is the best Christmas song ever. With that being said, last year we did have some holiday DLC released the week of Christmas (a Christmas song each from Billy Squier and the Pretenders, and a Hanukkah song by the Barenaked Ladies). There have been teasings this week from the folks at Harmonix that there will be some surprises this week… I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s some solid holiday DLC. Let’s find out together…
(P.S. While looking for a decent header for this post, I stumbled across this link, which has the WORST Christmas album covers ever! Completely unrelated, but check it out!)
- Weezer – “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To”*
- Weezer – “Beverly Hills”
- Weezer – “Let It All Hang Out”
- Limp Bizkit – “Build a Bridge”*
- The Offspring – “A Lot Like Me”*
- Yellowcard – “Ocean Avenue”*
* Denotes Family Friendly track compatible with Lego Rock Band

Oh man… I know the weezer stuff is considered ‘too easy’ – but… damn, I love all their songs so far… Been waiting for Beverly Hills… hahaha

I was wondering the same this myself :/ Hash Pipe is all around fun
Wow, Build a Bridge! A kind of odd choice, I was hoping for one of their bigger songs like My Way or Eat You Alive (maybe not Rollin’, that’s TOO obvious)… but wow, excellent song, I can’t wait to sing this
I actually hope there’s more Limp Bizkit. Flame me all you want, some of there stuff has some really great vocal parts.
Call me crazy, but I was actually kinda looking forward to some Christmas music this week… Personally I think Run, Rudolf, Run would be a blast to play… also help open the door for some Chuck Berry in the future.
All the same, I will always welcome more Weezer. Not super psyched the singles, but it still isn’t a bad week at all.

Now that the official podcast is out, I’m much less confident there will be any holiday DLC this year now, unfortunately. Still possible that we’ll get a surprise announcement before Tuesday, though!
This is off topic, because I want your opinions and I can’t access the RB forums at work. I want to get feedback on the MadCatz Cymbals, the three pack.
If you use them, what is your preferred placement? Obviously yellow above yellow. that’s easy. But blue and green; do you prefer them in the default order, if so, do you put blue or green on the higher pole? If not, do you put green then blue, with green high and blue low? Or do you put green on the double clamp with yellow ? I’ve tried them all and can’t make up my mind. I am also moving up from medium to hard and wondering what would be the smoothest.
Just fielding what everyone else prefers and gets their best play out of. Thanks for your input, and sorry for hijacking this thread!

No biggie. If I remember correctly, I do have them in the default order, with blue on the lower and green on the higher pole. My preference would be to have blue on the higher pole, but then it usually blocks the screen. This means you have to move the yellow cymbal over to the left, so it’s almost between the red and yellow pads, and then do the same thing with the blue and green cymbals. This works best for me, but it’s totally up to each person’s individual preference.
I love using them, because it adds a more authentic feel, but in terms of gameplay, especially if you are still moving up the difficulty ladder, I would concentrate more on using the pads for now.
Good advice, thanks. It’s just that, on a real kit, the crash is usually higher and in the middle, the ride lower and to the right. but often when I try and play in that configuration, I have brain farts and forget I have them switched. Definitely concentrating on just the pads for now, while playing hard.
Limp Bizkit? That was pulled out of left field, I never thought I’d see them in RB.
I was so very much hoping for a Holiday Pack. =/ I remember you posting about TSO a month or two ago, and I replied to it. I’ve been wanting that since a couple of months before Christmas last year. It would be so epic!!! @_@ I was thinking that maybe they would even be able to include a Beatles Holiday Pack for Rock Band, with Lennon’s song and McCartney’s song, and some other song from left field or something. I thought maybe they might be able to pull that off now.
*sigh* I was hoping for something epic, but it looks like I may just be disappointed. =/ I shall be hoping along with you still, though, despite the odds that are against us.
