Adam Lambert in Rock Band?!
Look, I’ll put myself out there: I watched most of last season of American Idol. I’ve never watched a full season before, and the biggest reason I watched was to see how far local contestant Danny Gokey was going to make it (he finished third). But there was one contestant that bugged the ever-living crap out of me: Adam Lambert. There’s not one thing I can stand about him. Not his screaching, tongue-out wailing that the judges thought was brilliant singing… Not his manufactured emo-meets-glam persona… And especially not his popularity… I have NO idea what a single person sees in him. The only thing I could picture him doing well is maybe a Broadway show about the life of Rob Halford… which is a shame, because I like Rob Halford.
Anyway, Collider.com was able to get an interview with him. While he did choose Rock Band over Guitar Hero, this is by far my least favorite “celebrity” endorsement yet. The interview ends with him commenting about possibly getting his music into Rock Band. I know that with the Rock Band Network going live soon, any artist can put their music in the game, but if I go to a Rock Band party where someone plays his song, I may have to leave.

Adam was actually my favorite on that season of Ameriocan Idol. He was the only one that sang songs that rocked. I’d love to see him in Rock Band, or even better, Guitar Hero, because they always get the music no one wants anyway. P.S. Pokemon rules!
I saw him sing Zeppelin online and he pretty much rocked it. Vocally, he’s better than most of the kids out there right now. There’s a reason Queen wants him to front the band.
I’d like to see him in Guitar Hero as well, because he’d be well away from my game of choice.
Did he just say “Once there is a pop culture record for it your FUCKED”??? haha, you gotta love him.
Gotta agree with ya. And Adam is not rock (except when he’s singing karaoke)
He is a lesser version of Lady GaGa, who is a fad anyway.

Really?

Look, I know I’m in the minority with this, but I cannot STAND him. I just think he stands for EVERYTHING that’s wrong with music nowadays. Like I said, I watched American Idol, and his background is in theater. He’ll have a hit album and once the next season starts, he’ll disappear like almost all the others from Idol.
Have to completely agree here – he’s terrible. I had never even heard of him until someone directed me to a YouTube video of him soiling Zep’s “Whole Lotta Love”. lol, Robert Plant > Adam Lambert
Ah this article had me laughing so much. Now, I ever saw these episodes of American Idol (I’ve been living in France, and even if I was in the US I doubt I’d watch it) but I have heard enough about him to know that I agree entirely with the article. I put him up there with Avril LaPoser.. er LaVigne.
Adam Lambert is a very good performer, me and my boyfriend voted for him on American Idol. So many in the business have really noticed Adam. Given his talent, I would guess Adam will be someone many will want to work with, but he is a highly creative artist and won’t slip into someone elses shoes for long.
