Setlist Checklist: Guitar Hero: On Tour: Decades

Hot on the heels of the successful Guitar Hero: On Tour, Activision was quick to follow up with Guitar Hero: On Tour: Decades less than 6 months later. Featuring the same gameplay as the original game, the gimmick this time was that each venue was themed after a different decade: Modern (2005-2007), 00s, 90s, 80s, and 70s.

Reception to the game was mixed with many critics saying that there wasn’t much done to improve upon the original game, although one feature that was lauded was the ability to share songs when playing multiplayer with someone who had a different game. Essentially, if you had On Tour, you could play with your friend who had On Tour: Decades and get full access to the setlists of both games.

Much like On Tour was to Guitar Hero III, On Tour: Decades was released soon after Guitar Hero World Tour, and as such, serves as a sort of companion piece. Because of this, quite a few songs are shared between the two games. It’s also worth nothing that shortly after the release of On Tour: Decades, Rock Band themselves enter the portable sphere with Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP. Between those two games, two songs are shared:

  • Jimmy Eat World – The Middle
  • Weezer – Buddy Holly

As noted in previous Setlist Checklist posts (and all future posts, as well), as the holes are continually filled in by Rock Band’s weekly DLC releases, we will update this post, and keep it linked in the FAQ page above, for future reference.

On Tour: Decades features 28 songs spanning from the 70s through to 2007, although just like On Tour, there were 7 different songs between the North American and European versions of the game, bringing the total up to 35 songs. Of those 35, 20 are currently available in Rock Band, or 57%. That number increases substantially, however, when you factor in the two pulled DLC songs and the one non-exportable track. Including those three, the percentage increases to 65%, significantly up from On Tour’s 48%.
