Rick-Springfield-9542384-1-402

Last week was great for people that didn’t get Blitz, but I feel that there was a sense of disappointment for those who’d picked it up already. Oh well, let’s see what’s in store this week…

  • Rick Springfield – Jessie’s Girl*
  • Rick Springfield – I’ve Done Everything For You*
  • Rick Springfield – Don’t Talk to Strangers

Tracks marked with * indicate a Pro-Guitar/Bass chart available for $0.99

    No Human Touch :(

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

My thoughts exactly! Probably my favourite Rick Springfield song!

    Toad3000 Reply:

I’m don’t think I know that one! Happy with the two new songs in this pack though.

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

I think it was in Vice City (or maybe Vice City Stories, I’m not sure).

    DVD Smith Reply:

It was VCS. And it was one of the best songs in the game (which is saying something, that game had it all).

Absolutely gutted it’s not in the pack. Oh well.

    RandydG Reply:

Have you seen the video for Human Touch? Rick asks the computer what year it is, and it replys 2016!..lol It still amazes me what people back in the 80′s though the future was going to look like, and what we would be wearing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo0uTu2uLtI

I didn’t think that the week of new DLC would include a Blitz song too. I thought it would all be new songs every two weeks.

2.Will there be any new content available alongside the Blitz singles?

There may be one or two instances where Blitz singles releases are accompanied by previously unreleased content, and there are several Pro Guitar upgrades planned as well. For the most part the Blitz singles will be released by themselves.

    SotYfan Reply:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that

  • Crashb648 says:

I really liked Jessie’s Girl in Blitz, and quite like the other two tracks! Nice one :)

  • Kevin says:

    Ehh!!

  • James! says:

I didn’t even know there were three Rick Springfield songs, so this is a welcome surprise.

Also, I want more of these packs and less of what we got last week.

  • T says:

Happy that Wii owners will finally get Jesse’s Girl. That song has been a long time coming even before it was a Blitz exclusive.

  • jfh2112 says:

    BUY ALL THE TRACKS

Already have Blitz, don’t care ’bout no dupes this time!

  • The Dave says:

Did Harmonix ever confirm that after March there would be no DLC or is that just rumor.

    Scott Reply:

After march there will be no more /Blitz/DLC. Normal DLC will still continue.

    Sidd Reply:

why is everyone on the forums thinking the game is ending?

    Plainclothes Man Reply:

Cuz peeps like a good end of the world story. I’m still waiting for a confermation from HMX.

    The Dave Reply:

Thought I read somewhere that they said in a Podcast the DLC will cease after Blitz stuff was done. Wanted clarification hence I asked. Thanks

    diego Reply:

All we know is that there will come new dlc every other week and between those weeks the will fill up with Blitz tracks. that’s why it sounds like new DLC is coming to an end. that and that HMX always denies the end of DLC everytime a rumour like this comes up but not this time. So I wouldn’t count on having new DLC long after mid-march

    tdc002 Reply:

Because no one from Harmonix is saying they’re wrong to believe that. Every time in the past someone says “DLC’s ending soon, Rock Band is dead,” a moderator or HMX staffer talks about how there’s been 5 years of DLC and Rock Band still has a big following of players and it’s not ending any time soon blah blah blah. There’s been none of that this time.

I think HMXHenry recently said the DLC situation will be re-evaluated when they get closer to the Blitz stuff running out in March. The way I see it, it seems like they’re using the Blitz stuff to stretch out what little DLC they have left.

  • MaximusDM says:

Well at least they are making pro upgrades again.

    GloofiE Reply:

    Couldn’t agree more.

  • SorgFamily says:

I was not weRe of either of these songs. I may be picking up “I’ve Done Everything For You” as it sounds pretty good. Nice upbeat 80′s song with what sounds to be a decent solo. Side note: after looking into it, it appears to be a Sammy Hagar cover.

  • RBGHfam says:

Hopefully the rumors aren’t true! Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and I have a bad feeling.

Not really interested in this, already have Jessie’s Girl because of Blitz.

Will probably pick up The Dillinger Escape Plan and Jerry Lee Lewis Great Balls of Fire though :)

  • Rick says:

Glad to see more 80s and I wished they had “Love Somebody” but I guess I can wait for that song.

  • case says:

After playing Jesse’s Girl, I wasn’t too excited for more Rick Springfield, but just listened to I’ve Done Everything For You and found it’s pretty great. Also, it’s good to see more pro guitar.

  • Pood LeFache says:

It’s good to see something new, and the Pro Upgrades are certainly appreciated. And now to wonder which of the remaining tracks will receive the 5 remaining Pro Upgrades (as HMXHenry said there would be six upgrades to Blitz songs).

  • KEWB says:

The only Rick Springfield song I’m familiar with is Jessie’s Girl, which I’m not too fond of. At least there’s new music this week, along with some pro guitar, including one upgrade for a Blitz track. Just unfortunate for me that it doesn’t appeal to me at all. Then again I’ll have to listen to at least the samples before I make a solid judgement, but I’m still not too hopeful. Still though, I know a lot of people like Rick Springfield, so I’m happy for those excited about this week.

  • Wyz says:

As I read this announcement, I think two things: I can’t believe they actually releases a lame Rick Springfield pack! And, hey, where’s “You Better Love Somebody”?? ;)

  • GreggD says:

What kind of a doofus names his son Jessie?

    Wyz Reply:

    Who knows…but he’s got himself a girl.

  • Xanadu says:

I’m hoping we’ll get a Collective Soul and Shinedown pack soon.

  • Chris says:

I know some people will like these songs, but I fear not many. If HMX is using sales of lame songs as these to decide to continue or not it obviously a set up. Lets face it, blitz bombed and rightly so. I haven’t heard of anyone who bought it but for the content. And weak dlc releases, well, i support covering a wide range of tastes and wont complain to loudly but there IS wat better bands and tracks to pursue. Lacuna Coil for example. 1 track in RBN? puleeze! get a deal with them! they are crazy popular!

To have the most dominant rhythm game on the market after beating out all the competition and then just shelving it or leaving its audience hanging would be a colossal mistake and a tragedy to be sure. If this is the case my only hope is that it’s all in prep for a new version of the game and they are working hard on making older content importable and spending he bucks to get some kick ass groups like ZZ top or Clapton into the fold. Or add a rhythm guitar track to be able to play two guitars in the same song…

More good country, or songs drunk middle aged women from the 80′s can sing like Kelly clarkson It was 10:39 when I called and texted… Lol I was trying to ask about a ride to and from the airport. I misjudged how much it would be to park there. or stuff like that can still generate lots if revenue. There are some seriously under- represented groups already on Rock band that would generate huge response by adding some tracks to them. Don’t give up on the players! Let us know what’s happening. Keeping a new version under wraps sill never generate big hype like halo or call of duty so just be up front to the folks like us who have kept the faith and dropped big bucks on this game line.

    Chris Reply:

Disregard the airport line. Epic fail. Not sure how that got in there! Lolz.
