Well, here we are, the final DLC release of the year (and I’m sure of that this time!). Earlier this week, we had a leak that said we’d be receiving Andrew W.K., Hot Chelle Rae, and a couple Blitz repeats. Let’s see if that’s true…

  • Andrew W.K. – Party Hard
  • Hot Chelle Rae – Tonight Tonight
  • P!nk – Raise Your Glass
  • fun. feat. Janelle Monáe – We Are Young

[Official announcement]

NOTE: The DLC will be available for Wii players on January 2nd, North American PS3 players on January 8th, and European PS3 players on January 30th.

No pro upgrades make me sad. Looks like they’re phasing them out.

    Toad3000 Reply:

Well, yeah, but would you want pro upgrades on any of these songs?

    DVD Smith Reply:

I was really hoping for a Party Hard upgrade, it sounds simple but a hell of a lot of fun.

    LCS Reply:

Pro upgrades are coming. RB’s twitter said they’ll be a few weeks with multiple upgrades.

Was hoping we’d see “Some Nights” in a Fun. pack, but alas we probably won’t for a while.

    SotYfan Reply:

Yeah I’m bummed about not having a Fun. pack… Really wanted Some Nights (or Carry On) with a song from Aim and Ignite. I guess we’ll have to wait to get it, if it comes one day

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

I have a feeling that, since Aim and Ignite is on a different label, getting things from that album mixed with stuff from Some Nights might be harder. Not impossible, but harder.

    SotYfan Reply:

Oh yeah, I forgot about this. Anyway, even if the two albums were on the same label, the pack would probably only be songs from Some Nights since most people who say they like the band probably don’t even know Aim and Ignite exists. At least, it’s like this where I come from.

    OsagaTheGreat Reply:

Yeah, when I bought the Aim and Ignite CD the guy told me “You know that We Are Young isn’t on this, right?”. It was interesting.

    SotYfan Reply:

Haha, I bought both albums together so I didn’t get in this situation. I personally prefer Aim and Ignite over Some Nights, but both are good.

I never thought I would see Andrew W.K. in a pack! I mean it’s awesome but totally unexpected. I will definitely be buying it. Also the sooner we’re done with RB:B songs the better imo.

    Agree!

I’d take 1-2 new songs w/ 2 Blitz songs if it’d get them all outta here by end of Feb

So much for having a Fun. pack….

The Hot Chelle Rae song should be worth a buy, but its one of those “song was hot months ago and now its meh” sorta deals….

That said, it’ll be a NYE DLC so I didn’t really expect something earth shattering….especially since for some reason PSN has like 3 weeks off from updating their network (weird)

I’m a bit more interested in what the 1st releases of the year will be…

Plus if I don’t have ppl over for RB, it’ll give me some time to play my new games I got for XMas (ACIII, Dishonored, COD:BO2, FC3)

  • xX666Xx says:

That Hot Chelle Rae song is one of the WORST things I have ever heard!

  • KStrickTech says:

Huh… why did I keep thinking Hot Chelle Rae was already part of the Blitz setlist?

    KStrickTech Reply:

I was also holding out hope that “Tonight Tonight” was the Smashing Pumpkins version…

    Toad3000 Reply:

Funny, I feel like it should’ve been part of Lego RB (even though the release dates don’t come close to lining up, it just SOUNDS like a goofy poppy Lego RB song)

    KStrickTech Reply:

Eh, Tonight Tonight (the HCR version, not the SmashPump version) is the very definition of cotton candy “sugar” pop, in that it has ABSOLUTELY no substance and leaves nothing but cheaper after experiencing it. It will, however, sell, and I’ll die a little inside because I know I’ll never see a Sister Hazel or Gin Blossoms pack…

    Gbangr Reply:

even if it was it wouldn’t stop HMX form releasing it again

  • ninjasweetheart says:

It’s fitting that after a year of pretty disappointing DLC, that we end with some of the worst.

  • Joe says:

I was not aware that they were releasing Rock Band Blitz songs as singles. After including “I’m Still Standing” in the Elton John pack and “Sing” in the My Chemical Romance pack, I’m hoping they release the other singles in packs! Here’s wishing for Avenged Sevenfold, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Quiet Riot (C** on Feel the Noize!), Shinedown, and Tears For Fears packs!

    LCS Reply:

They should all be coming out sooner or later.

    RhythmGameAddict Reply:

All? No, HMXHenry said in a forum post that from his memory that only 1 or 2 Blitz singles will be bundled in packs of the artist like MCR and Elton John.

  • Jason R. says:

Party Hard is so many kinds of awesome.

  • Wiill says:

Nothing is Pro Guitar/Bass.. Hmmm. Another week I’ll be drumming.

  • Jackson says:

Damn, that DLC lineup really bites the big one. I’d much rather have the Smashing Pumpkins version of “Tonight, Tonight”.

  • Jason R. says:

By the way, I believe we now have two songs from the vaunted Madden 2003 soundtrack:

Sad panda. Although, this is the first week in quite sometime that I won’t buy at least one track so I guess it was a decent run for me. Here’s to next Friday.
