Amberian Dawn? Never would have guessed…
If you have no desire to play stuff like Amberian Dawn on Expert Guitar because you consider it cruel and unusual punishment, check out “Circus Black” on Hard Guitar. One of the best Hard Guitar charts around. Lots of HOPOs in the main riff to keep you on your toes, a cool guitar solo, a decent amount of variety throughout. In real life, I would take Nightwish over Amberian Dawn, but for Rock Band, I found “Circus Black” a lot more fun on Hard Guitar than “Amaranth” was on Expert Guitar.

War in Heaven is also arguably the easiest Amberian Dawn song on guitar, if you’re afraid of the difficulty.

There’s also Lullaby and My Only Star if you want something a little more exciting but can’t handle the crazy solos.

I found “War In Heaven” a little dull, even on Expert. I really like the song, which I think is one of Amberian Dawn’s most unique and memorable, but not so much the chart. “Lost Soul” is more exciting on Expert and not too difficult, but is a bit of a chordfest, like “Amaranth”. I liked “Circus Black” on Hard more than any of these. “My Wings Are My Eyes” on Expert I thought was quite good. Still has some chordfest bits, but the chord changes are more interesting than normal. “Lullaby” and “Dreamchaser” were other ones I thought were really fun on Hard.
I have almost all the Amberian Dawn songs and those stood out as some of the best for good, but not great, players who find most songs on Hard are boring, but most metal on Expert is just not happening.
Cool songs, Amberian Dawn was totally unexpected.
Still waiting for Kaipa though. Hopefully it comes next week.
