DLC for 7/10

With Monday’s revelation of the Rock Band Blitz achievements, it looks like we are getting a bit closer to the nebulous release date. Although I expect to see the release date revealed very soon, most postulate that it will happen just after Xbox’s “Summer of Arcade” ends, so possibly August 22nd. Until then, we have the weekly DLC to keep us busy, which includes next week’s DLC…
- Daughtry – It’s Not Over
- Daughtry – No Surprise *
- Daughtry – Crawling Back to You
* Denotes Pro-Guitar/Bass chart availability for $.99.

While I am not a Daughtry fan per se, I think these songs could actually be reasonably fun in Rock Band. He’s a pretty good singer and the band itself seems to know how to spin a fairly tight musical web.
Very happy about this! I like all three of these songs too (which sometimes can be a rarity on a 3-pack). I still think he should have won American Idol the year he was on…

it’s a good thing he didn’t even end up in the top 2 or he would have been saddled with a crappy contract and that garbage they make the winners sing on their first album.

Yeah, you’re probably right. Not winning has probably given him much more control over what he wants to sing and release.
I can’t wait for Blitz to be released. For my taste, the DLC for the last month or so was not good. It seems to me they are keeping all the “good” stuff for Blitz and afterwards. Ok, let’s wait.
While I thought this was crap at first, I came to kind of enjoy it. Not the worst dlc. Just waiting for the B-52s
Huh. This pack might be fun after all. I hadn’t expected it, but I might be in for all three.
Damn it. I feel exactly the same way I do about the Shinedown pack – I love this band and I’m really happy to see them in Rock Band, but damn, those are BAD choices. It’s Not Over notwithstanding, the other two are slow, poppy ballads, and won’t be very fun to play. Daughtry have so many better songs for this game, like What I Want, Renegade, Over You, but no, the record label gives us two of their slowest, easiest songs.
Also Harmonix, why the hell did It’s Not Over not get the pro upgrade? It’s their biggest song and actually features a decent guitar solo!
Big Daughtry fan here, very disappointed. Meh, I suppose I should be happy we got any at all.

[assumes Harmonix had 100% input on which tracks they could get...]

You got there before I did. I know it’s not all Harmonix’s choice. At least with the Nickelback packs we got a mix of slower and heavier songs. You’d think, since Daughtry are the same genre (and I think the same label), they’d have dnoe the same thing.

D’oh. That’s what I get for not reading the entire comment…
My apologies, DVD Smith!

let’s just hope that they left some of other songs that you (and i) preferred for a second daughtry pack.
I’m pissed, I wanted Home & September.
After 2 artists from American Idol in a month, I want a pack from The Voice.
The Voice Pack 01
Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera
Fighter by Christina Aguilera.
Forget You by Cee-Lo Green.
“whatever song just to make a pack” by Blake Shelton.

How about “some beach”? That would be a fun song.

Some Beach would be a blast to play! A little “Ol’ Red” would be fun too…

While I wouldn’t be against the general idea, I’d have to vehemently oppose anything involving “Moves Like Jagger”. That’s the most aggressively annoying earworm I think I’ve ever heard, and it must be stopped.

The song is good for parties and, certainly, will be a well-selling.

I have not heard the song, but there is a rumor that it is in Rock Band Blitz.
Would have liked Home and/or Louder than Ever, but can’t complain about any of these, and will definitely be buying the pack.
*sigh* I haven’t bought anything since BFMV because there hasn’t been any songs I’ve been interested in. I’ve NEVER heard of Daughtry.
Its not over is a decent song, will DL that one.
The other two are very generic sounding, reminds me of 3 doors down (and not their good song), they all have great vocals obviously but the music itself I’m not a fan of, will probably pass on the other two.
Basically my only prior experience with Daughtry is What I Want thanks to GHOT. It was decent enough in my opinion. Disappointed that these songs are nothing like it.
While I hardly know about Daughtry and his collection of songs, I DO know these from the massive amount of radio play they got. Takin’ all 3 this week! Gimme.
Another week where Harmonix refuses to take my money. I think this is the 3rd straight week? They MUST be pissing me off for something really epic.
I’m not a teenage girl, so I’ll pass
BLEH! I’d rather have more Nickelback.

Actually… the one Nickelback song I actually wanted STILL hasn’t been released. Leader of Men was simply their best song.

Dude I want any song from The State, great album, much grittier than the “now” sounding Nickelback

No Surprise was actually co-written by Chad Kroeger of Nickelback.
I wouldn’t mind Leader of Men or Breathe, either. Fly from the first album was good, too. But then, I like the newer Nickelback, too.
Excited. Wife will really enjoy these too.
It seems all the warnings I read since the announcement were warranted. These guys are more boring than Nickelback, from what I can tell from these songs.
I’ll not even participate in the code give-away, since I’d rather have codes going to folks who will enjoy this pack.
Wish they would’ve included Over You, but I’ll definitely be buying all of these.
Oh GOD. Daughtry is worse than Nickelback.
And the streak continues. Almost 2 months now and nothing worth buying. Hope this changes very soon.
Long Summer, no new songs for me……
i like all these songs, but i would of liked to see home and september. maybe on the next pack or on blitz
Not a huge fan of Daughtry, but I’m at least getting “It’s Not Over”, that’s a pretty good song

“What I Want” is what I need… :/
Not getting this!, though i enjoyed the last few weeks but i can’t say they put the most amazing tracks on lately but that’s just my opinion of course.
About this summer XBLA, there’s also Jet Set Radio coming out for Arcade this summer which i can’t wait for sure for either!, it’s going to be a amazing summer with Xbox Live Arcade.
My girlfriend will probably want these. At least I got a maiden track I really liked in May. I hope that after blitz is released we get some collective soul tracks like Heavy and Energy.

funny enough I don’t pay for them, but our rock band playtime quickly turns into sex after a setlist or two
Only heard It’s Not Over before, the other 2 songs aren’t bad. Reminds me of the late 90′s when alternative rock was all popular. Good times.
Honestly never gave them the time of day, heard parts of songs and I thought sounded like shit, but after watching the previews, I could easily find time to play atleast 2 out of the 3 when I play rock band. It’s good to have some variety each week, I got all 3 from last week, and will atleast get one from this…dont see why people cry so much about weeks not being good, maybe its because you arent willing to open your mind and ears to something else..glad to see Harmonix is still giving variety.
This has nothing to do with the songs, rather a complaint about the site.
For the past couple weeks I’ve been getting these browser-hijacking ads, and the only way to close them is to use Task Manager. I wasn’t sure where they were coming from at first, but now I’m almost positive they’re coming from this website. Here’s a screenshot of it.

If anything can be done about this it would be greatly appreciated.

CRAP. Sometimes the ad service we use lets through some questionable stuff. I’ll let them know and turn it off for a few days just in case. Sorry.
So after never hearing anything of this band and only now listening to the preview, all I can say is: Urgh. Another one of ‘those’ bands
young man blues has been fcd. does that warrant a report? youtube.com/watch?v=wucXIlrzHqA

While it’s DEFINITELY impressive, I’m not aware of a post we’ve ever run on the site talking about player accomplishments, outside of trying to start up a recurring Player of the Week post. The reason is that there is no objective cutoff as to what should be featured and what should be omitted as “Oh, well I could do that.” It’s all subjective, and hard to classify as “news.” Also, if we had more time (and manpower), we would revisit this and try to put more player-focused accomplishments on the site.
