That Mudvayne song was the surprise of the week for me – seriously fun on drums. It reminded me of In The End, in that it was perfect for double-bass players for whom 2x Bass Pedal versions are still way too fast.

Yea I’ve been thinking of getting double bass for my e-kit. Maybe with songs like this and the BFMV pack, I should seriously consider it.

    Ed Reply:

It was a surprise for me too. I never heard this song before and I liked it.

I had high hopes of getting my first vocals 100% on Satellite, but that “quite part” killed me. It just doesn’t register for me.

    Very odd week for me.

Gonzo – Had a surprisingly decent bass part, including a (boring) solo. Lots of chords, but also a lot of just straight-eights. Drum was fairly straight beats the entire way, with an easy enough bass part that thenewnoelisoncruz had no problem playing most of it whilst playing guitar. I’m on the fence about grabbing this one.

Happy? – The only track of the three I’d heard before. The bass chart is all over the place, and very chord heavy. Most of the chart looks far more interesting than the guitar chart does. The drums look like they will be exhausting but probably within my skill level with a bit of practice. I’ll probably need to go get a second bass pedal setup with my new IONs to really be able to handle it though.

Satellite – The weakest of the three for the bass/drums for me. The bass is mostly a strummy beat on the chord root, not really my favorite type of bass chart. The drums are a pretty straight pattern through most of the chart with little variety.

I’ll probably grab Happy? and am seriously thinking about Gonzo, but I’m just not sold on Satellite this week. Probably grab those two sometime in a few weeks.
