mehhhhhhhhhhhh
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little…
Hmm, these could be fun, although would have preferred Leave Me Alone (I’m Lonely). Get the Party Started should be great at parties though, unsurprisingly.
If I had a bald man in a boat, I might like this. Oh well…my wife will like it.
A 4 pack is sort of a good sign if anything. I know 3 of the 4 songs. I have never heard funhouse, should have been get the party started or somebody get me. I will grab up the 3 I know

Funhouse was off the same album as So What (in Lego RB). It didn’t get as much airplay as the other members of the pack.

At first I thought a 4 pack was a good sign too but I think there was just a leftover song. Harmonix says they license is sets of three right? Well there was a song by her in Lego Rock Band and one for DLC so maybe they just threw the extra one in the other 3-pack they had.
Gam30ver Reply:

Good thought but why would they sit on a song for two years? Doesn’t make too much business sence to pay for a song not have it make money for you for that long
samjjones Reply:

Good thing nobody knows about the 25 or whatever live Pearl Jam songs that were licensed.
WAWA Reply:
April 13th, 2012 at 2:32 pm
I was wondering that too, but maybe they didn’t want to release it as a single alongside some other pack so they recently licensed some more P!nk songs.
“Get the Party Started” for me. Thanks HMX!
Don’t Let Me Get Me and Just Like A Pill would’ve made for better overall and RB playability selections, but I may get a couple of these….
Not the full pack probably but Get The Party Started is a must!
Toad3000 Reply:

Agreed, I like those songs more than Please Don’t Leave Me, and I don’t think I know Sober.
This doesn’t do much for me. I can’t say HMX hasn’t hit some serious variety in the last few weeks, but none of it is really up my alley.

Not at all…we obviously know solid hits that would make good RB tracks…plus let’s be honest, fresh early Pink is much better than some of this garbage that has come out recently….
I actually liked Just Like A Pill better than the world renowned Get The Party Started…
Plus I think they translate better…and as I always say, why settle for a ground rule double when if you’re HMX you can knock it outta the park?!
RockBandAide Reply:

You think Harmonix has more pull than the record industry?! I don’t think you understand how the music industry works.
Braves22 Reply:

i have a fine understanding…
I can’t see Just Like A Pill costing them any more than 2 newer songs that are on the charts….
RockBandAide Reply:
April 13th, 2012 at 9:48 am
Apparently not. You’re assuming that usable masters exist, are readily available, are in acceptable quality, are allowed access by the artist, are allowed access by the labels, are allowed access by her management, and are available for a price that will allow for a reasonable profit margin for Harmonix.
The process to get DLC into Rock Band isn’t just someone from Harmonix saying “Hey P!nk, how much for ‘Just Like a Pill?’ We’ve got a blank check all ready for you!”

everything in here is OPINION….
It’s a message board….
Man!
Did everyone have their Cherrios peed in this morning?!
I just felt like better choices could have been made….
It’s a video game, lighten up!
That said, RBA it’s bad forum to try and tell an avid follower that they don’t know something when you don’t have a clue what they do or do not know….
Thanks for turning me and my friends off your site, not like you care.
That is all. Have a good day

Saying you wanted different songs is opinion, honestly one that I definitely agree with, as I’m not fond of the song choices in this pack either.
But I’m shocked that an “avid follower” such as yourself wouldn’t be more than familiar five years in to the franchise about some of the cursory difficulties of licensing, something that we seem to espouse upon nearly every day here on the site and on social media.
I’m sorry that you took offense in my attempt at correcting some things you believed to be true, but are widely and commonly known to be false. If that’s all it takes to “turn you off” from a site, you’re going to have a tough time on the internet.
awesomme will be good for parties!!
I have this theory that the reason why we were getting 3 packs was because one song from each pack was being saved for blitz any idea how long we been getting 3 song weeks for pretty sure we had a three pack of blink (always in blitz), MGMT (Are they not a band that are under the label fuelled by ramon) anyway will be interesting to see if my theory is true and weather the 4 songs a week takes off now
Toad3000 Reply:

I think you may be confusing Fueled By Ramen with another music label…(or MGMT with an entirely different style of music)

I wonder if the 3-song a week thing is also HMX trying to ensure that they can stretch out their DLC schedule over a potential slow period that could be caused by other projects.
Like they could’ve done Slayer AND Pink last week, but instead their spreading it out so that they’ve got more coverage incase they hit a situation where they’re short on content or behind on something.
I would never have imagined myself a Pink fan, but her two
songs already in the game are awfully fun. Definitely
grabbing this.

I actually had to go through the wikipedia page for RB DLC to find out what the other Pink song in RB was (I have So What from Lego RB). And the answer…was fabulously ironic.
Slayer to Pink eh. Kinda wish they kept it a 3 pack and released a single by ANYONE else. but oh well, i save some cash next week.

NYAN CAT EVERYWHERE
I might pick up a couple of tracks for party play.
I liked the Pink song in Lego. I had never heard anything else by her until the snippets in the preview video. I don’t like these compared to the Lego song, though. However, HMX are allowed several weeks of DLC I do not like after the awesomeness of the Slayer pack!
I’d really like to see “U + Ur Hand” in RB but I imagine the song’s content will prevent us from ever getting it.

I will make the mandatory reference to “Sir Psycho Sexy” by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, here. If it’s too bad, it’ll be edited out (Sir Psycho Sexy has about an entire verse edited out in RB).
Well, dang. I wanted P!nk, but these wouldn’t have been my picks. It’ have been God is a DJ, Raise Your Glass, and Trouble…
Well, this has been a crappy month so far…..
You gave us Lady Gaga and now Pink, where’s Katy Perry? No seriously, I like her better than these two popstars.

Michael Jackson’s music is licensed exclusively to Ubisoft, where we’ve seen the “Michael Jackson: The Experience” games come from. A travesty, I know, because between RB and DC, his music would sell like gangbusters.

Second 4 pack, first was Gold Star My Heart on VDay. Third 4 song week. (Gold Star and Edgar Winter+KoRn were the others)
Happy about this pack, especially “Funhouse”.
Definitely getting Get The Party Started and Sober (GREAT song). Skipping Please Don’t Leave Me, that song always annoyed me (as well as Who Knew, the other Pink DLC we got way back when). And I probably won’t get Funhouse but a good guitar chart could change my mind. Really wish we had gotten Trouble, that would have been the guitar highlight of the week for sure.

As a testament to the diversity that is musical taste, “Who Knew” and “Please Don’t Leave Me” are the only two Pink songs available that I wanted.
There’s stuff from her older albums too though. So hopefully that’s next!
Though there’s much worse than P!nk in RB already, I’m a little disappointed this the first 4-pack in while.
Better luck next week. Fans, rejoice!
So I check to see what today’s DLC was, saw the pic of Pink. Thought could be ok if they picked the right songs. They didn’t. Thought we were getting Halestorm soon. Would have preferred that. Two bad weeks in a row, let’s not make it three Harmonix!!!

I hate Pink with the intensity of the sun and think it’s a little bit bullshit that she managed to get a four pack after months of three packs, but whatever. I just won’t buy it, I guess.
DLC has been depressing for me personally. I honestly don’t remember the last full pack I bought, and aside from one song here and there, I’ve barely downloaded anything this year…
T Reply:
April 13th, 2012 at 12:27 pm
If you’re averaging somewhere around one song a week, then HMX is likely just fine with that. They don’t expect everybody to buy everything. And as long as you’re constantly buying one or two songs they’d much rather have that constant revenue than one pack…then nothing…then another pack 2-3 months later.
Not to mention that people’s tastes and choices get FAR more selective once they have a larger library to pick from. That’s the beauty of it. If you don’t like these 4 Pink songs they go into a library with another couple of thousand choices containing stuff you will like.
But expecting HMX to please you EVERY week is just unrealistic. Because you won’t share the same music tastes as the next person.
Erik Reply:
April 13th, 2012 at 12:51 pm
I said aside from a song here and there. Meaning literally like I bought Smooth a few weeks ago, and before that I think I bought one song from the Bush pack. Aside from those two, I haven’t bought anything since probably last December. The backlog of DLC doesn’t help since generally when a band has DLC I’ll, you know, buy it.
And drop the fucking YOUR TASTES lecture. I didn’t say anything negative about Harmonix or about anyone else’s tastes. I said I personally haven’t been enjoying the DLC lately. I didn’t say they should change what they’re doing, or that anyone who likes Pink or whatever is a bad person. Go back and read my post again. When you can point out any whiny, irrational statements like “Ughhhhhh harmonix sucks, how about (insert band here) or something?” in there, then you can talk down to me all you like.
T Reply:

First: It’s the generic “you”.
Second: Stop being so defensive. You made a statement, and I offered a theory on what kind of purchase habits HMX hopes to see.
Third: Stop being so defensive.

Yes, it’s a shame that “Closing Time”, “Flagpole Sitta”, and Buckcherry’s “Lit Up” are not in the game. That was like the three-headed monster of every bar band in the mid 90′s.

As much as I’m usually against minimalist songs (read: songs missing several instruments), if Adele ever arrives, I sure hope they include Someone Like You in the pack. Yes, it’s only piano and vox, but damn it, that was #2 on my personal list of hits from last year.
Also, I wish “There You Go” and “U + Ur Hand” would have made this pack. Oh well.
Well not what I would expect to go in Rock Band, but I quite like HMX to make lots of money, so I’m all for packs like this. Not everyone who plays Rock Band loves their guitar solos and metal!
Not impressed, rather generic tracks. Another RBN only week for me.
Wow, I actually remember GTPS from Pump It Up PREX 3, being the only American master license in that game, and from SingStar. Because of the latter, though, I really am going to have to see the playthrough when the song comes out to make sure the instrument parts are good.

This isn’t the kind of music I crave for RB but I will still purchase it… Once Sony sort out the DLC licensing holdup for EU/AUS.
Random pop artist gets 4 songs as opposed to the now usual 3. Hmmm.
