DLC for 3/13

D’oh. Looks like the Rock Band DLC announcement may have been posted a little premature. While I was looking around wondering if I was the only one to see it, and thus as a favor to Harmonix hold off on saying anything, it looks like others may have also seen the same thing, so I guess that makes it fair game? (That’s how I’m rationalizing it, anyway.)

  • Three Days Grace – The Good Life
  • Three Days Grace – I Hate Everything About You
  • Three Days Grace – Pain *

* Denotes Pro-Guitar/Bass chart availability for $.99.

Looks like all the text has been taken down.

  • Chris says:

First week of the entire year I won’t buy everything! (Or anything.) But that’s okay. I know they’re like #11 on the Rock Band Dashboard, so this will make lots of people happy.

  • Torkles says:

I’m guessing I Hate Everything About You will get the obligatory pro upgrade due to it being in Rocksmith and the most popular of the songs listed.

  • prematureLY

  • Nathan Major says:

Why did they pick Pain over Animal I Have Become? Animal I Have Become is an awesome song. Waah, whine, MOAR MUSE.
I’m glad to see some Three Days Grace, though. There are yet another band I know isn’t that great but I still enjoy.

  • Rockox says:

If true, nothing for me. I’ve never been a fan of these guys. It’s just as well, coz I’ve got lots of older DLC to pick up.

  • OsagaTheGreat says:

Also, this just reminds me how much I want Weezer’s The Good Life!

    • GreggD says:

Sadly, nope. I’m still hoping we get Won’t Get Fooled Again in RB3 form with keys et all. It would finally give someone something to do during that bitchin’ synth solo.

  • Brady says:

Sounds like 2 weeks of no keys. 🙁

    • Bob says:

And 3 of the last 4 weeks. ( I don’t believe Megadeth had any keys )

I’m OK with this – I need to buy Mass Effect 3 anyways.

  • Gam30ver says:

About time! One of my fav live bands to see

    • Gam30ver says:

I don’t get all the hate. Current Radio bands seem to get a bad wrap.

      • Ben says:

You get instant hate if you haven’t been a band for about 10 years. You also get hate if you have been around for more than 15. But for those 4 years inbetween, people love you. Not sure why. Maybe science will one day figure this out for us.

        • desperadokilljiy says:

Prob because they play chord after chord and don’t change anything. (Most modern radio groups) there music is boring for rock band. Drums is a different story for some thou.gh

          • Vampire-Jekyll says:

Not that I’m defending modern hard rock radio or 3 Days Grace, but the Breaking Benjamin packs are some of the highest rated on http://www.dlcquickplay.com. Again, not saying BB and 3DG are the same or anything but they are generally considered the same format, so I guess there are exceptions to the rule. Just saying…

  • Ellak says:

    ^ amen. Can’t wait

  • Imdaboss says:

Animal I Have Become would be 200000x times better than I Hate Everything About You….otherwise this looks pretty good

  • Glass Moe says:

This is probably the first week where I’ve heard all 3 songs in a pack before, and still decided to not grab the pack. They honestly don’t look very fun to play, except for vocals.
I probably would have bought Animal I Have Become, though, for that memorable bass-line and because of Smackdown Vs Raw 2007.

  • Kal_el_0724 says:

First off, where in the world is Animal I’ve Become?

Second off, why are is it spelled “3” Days Grace? Shouldn’t it be “Three”?

    • Kal_el_0724 says:

Yup just looked it up. Not sure where “3” came from. Even their website is threedaysgrace.com

It just looks weird with a 3 instead. :p

    • RockBandAide says:

First: Animal I’ve Become is not included in this pack. You would have to ask the record label why it was not given as DLC. We are not given that information.

Second: It is are because that was the way it was shown on RockBand.com.

      • Kal_el_0724 says:

Haha. Appreciate the reply! I noticed my typo after I posted it. Happy you picked it up! 🙂

  • btlaffin says:

Finally! OMG! Over 4 years without a single song from one of the more popular modern hard rock bands. I would’ve preferred some other songs of theirs like Riot, Animal I Have Become, or Break, but it is just nice to see them finally make an appearance.

  • HugoM says:

The weekly single seems so long ago now. I don’t think its ever coming back, sadly.

  • DVDSmith says:

When I first saw “I Hate Everything About You” I got really excited. Then I remembered the song with that title that I wanted was actually by Ugly Kid Joe..

Think I’ll buy London Calling instead.

    • samjjones says:

“When I first saw “I Hate Everything About You” I got really excited. Then I remembered the song with that title that I wanted was actually by Ugly Kid Joe..”

  • sidd says:

Just getting I hate eveyrthing about you

  • VolTRH says:

I had a feeling we would be getting Three Days Grace soon. I’ll be getting “I Hate Everything About You” and “Pain” definitely, possibly the third song too.

Surprised “Animal I Have Become” isn’t in this pack. I’ll just speculate and say that they saved that song for RB4. >.>

  • MrMet2087 says:

The ommision of “Never Too Late” really annoys me, it’s their only song I like and after listening to the other 3 none of them caught my eye. I really hope that Rock Band 4 or some massive rock band track pack is this new game that’s being teased for PAX because the lack of volume of DLC 3 months into the new year is troubling. I understand it Jan and early Feb are light because of what HMX Henry mentioned: staff vacations, holidays, etc. but to be 3 1/2 months into the year when this DLC hits and an average of 3 songs still being it worries me. I’d like to be optimistic and think that they are holding songs for a new game but part of me thinks this might just be lack of content being able to be licensed and it profit starting to fade out. I mean there’s no arguing when you look at 1-2 years ago output of DLC compared to now.

  • Jason R. says:

Well, I’m not a fan of this group and will be skipping this pack. However, I do recognize that this is a pretty popular band and these songs could sell well. So bully for that. I still haven’t procured “Santa Monica” yet, so that’ll tide me over.

  • TSarcasm says:

+1 to all those saying there are better songs to be had. This is one of my last few *why isn’t this band in RB* bands… now, Chevelle?!?

I’m just staying optimistic that another pack is in our future!

    • samjjones says:

Given the recent volume of HMX released DLC…the platform will probably be dead by the time we get around to a second pack of these dudes.

      • Bionic92 says:

Or a new game/tidal wave of DLC could be coming.

      • RockBandAide says:

Considering there is a major announcement at PAX East, I HIGHLY suspect you’re wrong.

Also, DLC quantity ebbed before Rock Band 3 was announced and released. I remember people complaining about the lack of DLC prior to Rock Band 3’s announcement, and then immediately following that, people were complaining that too MANY songs were released prior to Rock Band 3, just so they could get more songs with RB3 features.

If there wasn’t something coming in the next month, I wouldn’t have an issue with the “doom and gloom” attitudes, but it’s HIGHLY premature with an announcement on the horizon. Rock Band’s not going anywhere soon.

        • samjjones says:

For all we know (the uninformed public), the upcoming title could be non-music related altogether. Or not compatible with the existing RB library. We really have no idea*.

We’re mostly speculating in a vacuum of official information, and we can only make deductions based off of the facts at hand. The output of HMX RB DLC has dropped quite a bit year-to-year. Yes, there was a similar period of ebb right before RB3 dropped, but that was later on in the year before the Oct release date. We’re only in early March.

We’re all heavily invested and passionate about the franchise, so any doom and gloom predictions aren’t going to scare away any customers at this point. I think it’s fair to speculate that the recent output is a permanent business decision going forward, and not some kind of resource allocation issue like we’ve seen in the past.

          * Well, we “do” have an idea based off of hints/some research, and I think the next title *will* in fact build off of the existing library in a role-playing kind of way, so I’m not worried about not being able to play my $1K+ worth of licensed music anytime soon. I think it’s pretty clear that the next title will not be a straight up RB4, though.

In any event, if it took 4+ years to get three “Three Days of Grace” songs…it’s not unreasonable to think that it will be a decent amount of time before seeing another pack of them. Especially if the DLC throughput is only 3-4 songs per week for the majority of weeks going forward. That was the major point I was trying to make.

Apologize for the length of my response 🙂

    • volcom_sk83r says:

if we get a Chevelle pack, we absolutely need a 8-12 pack. There are way too many good songs to choose from! On a side note, here’s to hoping they’ll release a new pack of SSPU in May when their album comes out.

      • desperadokilljiy says:

        In your opinion volcom
old chevelle sure, new chevelle sucks

        • volcom_sk83r says:

lol I’m sorry, your opinion is far superior. Anything Sci-Fi Crimes and before is good with me. The new album I only really like one song from it which is Clones.

  • Joe Cam says:

Excited to FINALLY see some Three Days Grace.
Disappointed to see “I Hate Everything About You”. I can’t stand that song. There are a dozen better songs they could’ve picked besides that one.

  • 291j291j says:

Good to see yet another Canadian band for DLC..
But I’m still holding on to hopes for Metric! 🙂

  • CrimsonBeard892 says:

Meh, I guess it’s good for the people who want them, since they are a major act and highly requested, but not for me.

  • Walker says:

Rock Band 4 is coming. And I can’t wait.

  • Beckett says:

Haha as soon as I loaded the front page and saw the picture I said to myself: “Self, that looks a band you will hate. Look at the stupid beard on that guy, and that guy’s extra stupid hair, and the douche twat look on all 4 of their faces. I don’t know who these clowns are but I guarantee I hate their music.” Then I scrolled down and saw the band name, recognized it, and said “Yep, good call self, definitely a band I strongly dislike.” It’s very considerate of these gents to give everyone fair warning about what their music is like by making sure to look the part.

  • King Arthur says:

There are about 100 Canadian artists I would prefer to see DLC from including the likes of The Spoons and Corey Hart. And I hate The Spoons and Corey Hart. But I’m in the minority, so enjoy. More MSP for me.

  • benet says:

Oh my lord no thank you! But congrats to the people who will enjoy it!

  • Ospero says:

Wha…? This is the eleventh most requested band on the forums? Gee, talk about music that didn’t reach Europe. That photo makes them look like the emo twin brothers of OneRepublic, and the songs … are those first two actually meant to be taken seriously? The bits we get in that preview sound a little like “My First Emo Lyrics”.

Ah well. More power to everyone who likes them (apparently quite a lot of people), but this will be the first DLC week in ages that I’ll sit out on. Step up your game, RBN. 😉

  • Glosoli says:

My personal drought continues, tha arrow is definitely pointing down.

  • FoxForever says:

Never listened to them. The only thing that sounds good to me is “The Good Life”

  • Vampire-Jekyll says:

I remember when these guys were at their peak of popularity a few years ago. Just about everyone I knew LOVED them.

    I never understood the appeal.

  • Cassie Drake says:

About effing time! It bother me though that they mis-spelled it as “3 Days Grace” when it’s really “Three Days Grace”.

That, and when people write “Three Doors Down” instead of “3 Doors Down” are my biggest pet peeves >_<

  • Tim the Enchanter says:

I’m really glad Home wasn’t one of the songs picked.

  • YESSSSSSSS!!! says:

Me and my friends have been saying for a very long time that these guys need a pack. And here it is! I’m very happy. Hopefully they have more DLC for them (and Breaking Benjamin and Linkin Park) in the pipeline.

    This is great news.

  • Ellak says:

Fun Fact about 3DG. Neil Sanderson used to play for christian rockers Thousand Foot Krutch.

  • OsagaTheGreat says:

Wow. Pain got the PRO upgrade, not IHEAY. Another week where a song in Rocksmith doesn’t get PRO.

  • Toad3000 says:

Well, that’s underwhelming. Not a huge fan of 3DG in the first place, but I’d rather have had Break, Never Too Late, Animal I Have Become. Granted, I don’t know The Good Life, I’ll have to listen to that, but Pain is…aptly titled.
Fiancee likes IHEAY though, so I’ll probably pick that song up.

  • RBGHfam says:

Not familiar but listened and its another one song week for me (I Hate Everything About You). Didn’t care for the other two, oh well still lots of good stuff I have yet to download from previous weeks.

Reading the new post, curious to see what downloadable title means.

    Who the hell is that?
