Alice in Chains in Rock Band Next Week

According to an email sent out to Alice in Chains newsletter subscribers yesterday, apparently we have all (or at least a partial) preview of next week’s DLC offering. Since their new album, Black Gives Way to Blue, is coming out next week (with new lead singer William DuVall), I would have expected this new pack to be all new stuff, but that is not the case (which I’m sure is appreciated by the Layne Staley purists), as only two songs from next week’s pack come from the new album, along with three older hits. Here’s the tracks that are coming:
- A Looking In View
- Check My Brain
- No Excuses
- Rooster
- Would?
Better yet, for all the Alice in Chains fans out there (i.e. ME), looks like next week’s pack will be the first of two scheduled Alice in Chains packs heading to Rock Band. No details on when the second pack will be out.

Worst Case Scenario: The 3 classic tracks are re-records with the new singer. pleasedontbetrue… pleasedontbetrue… pleasedontbetrue…
I don’t think Cantrell and co. would rerecord those classics without Layne. Plus, we know “Would?” is the original (see Rock Band Unplugged) and we already have a “Man in the Box” master track, so it looks good for AIC original masters.
OMG.. this just made my WEEK!!!
Me again. Just thinking about it… I think Down in a Hole would make a nice addition to this growing list.
