Pearl Jam’s Backspacer DLC OFFICIALLY Coming on 9/20

Backspacer

Looks like it’s now official.  I talked about it before, but now Harmonix has confirmed it, Pearl Jam’s new full album, Backspacer, will also be released as DLC for Rock Band on the same day as the album release, Sunday, September 20th.  And if you know anything about music (and if you play Rock Band, I’m assuming you do), this is against the industry norm, which is to release new albums on Tuesdays.

The new album can be purchased at Target, and the special edition (retail $29.99) will include a code to download the full album DLC.

Early reviews praise this album as one of their best, and from what I’ve heard myself so far (“The Fixer”), it’s damn good.  Don’t buy many albums anymore, but I’m almost definitely in for one!

Woot, Rock Band sunday! I wonder if we’ll still get DLC on Tue?

Hold on, just received the newsletter (#22) and it says Tuesday! Maybe it’s Sunday for US only?

Here’s a thought Pearl Jam. Why don’t you release an album on Rock Band that People like? VS. perhaps? HMMM????

Personally I’m not much of a fan of Pearl Jam, mostly because it sounds like all they’re doing is slurring all the words together.

    Mr. Bungle,

Ever occur to you that people might actually like other Pearl Jam material besides the early stuff? Like Backspacer perhaps? HMMM???
