Why Don’t You Pick Up a REAL Instrument?!

How many times have you heard that? Almost as much as I hear from uninformed Best Buy employees that “Rock Band copies Guitar Hero,” but that’s besides the point. I don’t hear it as much as I used to, mostly because the people that used to say that have rocked on Rock Band and can no longer complain, but I still hear it every now and again. Of course, I’ve also heard the exact opposite from successful musicians, in that it introduces a new audience to both new music, as well as allows players to possibly create their own music using traditional means in the future. I’ll admit, I’ve picked up the guitar and taught my myself TNT by AC/DC (very easy song) since playing Rock Band, so it is not an invalid argument.
Well, Computerandvideogames.com interviewed John Drake from Harmonix (who plays drums in The Main Drag), and he had a little to say about it, as well! Check out the link below to read more!

Hell, RB got me back into playing bass. I stopped playing for a couple years, then once I picked up RB2 and hit the faux-bass, I picked real bass back up. Doubt I would’ve touched my bass again if it weren’t for RB.
