DLC for 2/22
It seems that it has been forever since we’ve had a new DLC announcement, when it’s actually only been a few days longer than normal. And while technically Harmonix’s weekly official DLC releases met a c-c-combo breaker, I think we’ll let them slide. Anyway, here is what’s on tap for next week!
- Pat Benatar – Fire and Ice
- Pat Benatar – Love is a Battlefield
- Pat Benatar - Shadows of the Night
- Pat Benatar - We Belong *
- Pat Benatar - Invincible
- Pat Benatar - Promises in the Dark
* Denotes Pro-Guitar/Bass chart availability for an additional $.99

I love when they release packs that my wife and I will both love. Buying this whole thing!

Get out of my head, I was about to post almost the exact same thing… Way excited about this pack!

Yeah there’s at least two more DLC songs that’ll allow me to lure my wife to the basement…wait, that didn’t come out right.
Thought don’t tell her that I gold starred “Airplanes” on my own.
Pat who? Warning, this is not a trolling action, just had so much need for new DLC that I’m disappointed

she’s a famous 80′s rock singer.
guitar should definitely be interesting. you should give them a listen.
the name Pat Benatar doesn’t really sound like a rock singer, but believe me, she is.

I always thought Pat Benatar was a rock-ish name.

Does “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” ring any bells?

Or, for that matter, Love Is a Battlefield or We Belong…
There are some good party songs there. The ladies never really want to sing any metal.
Cool, only know Battlefield and We Belong, but I’ve wanted We Belong for ages. Will need to give the rest a listen.

EVERY single one of these was a hit, let me tell ya. With Heartbreaker and Hit Me With Your Best Shot already in RB, these complete her worthwhile songs…
While playing Totoal Eclipse of the Heart last week it got me thinking we needed Love is a Battlefield on Rock Band. I will have to listen to the rest of the songs at home later because i dont know the rest of the songs by name itself

GAH! I was just to say the same thing *tear* Happy for LIAB though
Holy crap all vocalists should be on their knees thanking HMX for this pack..ESPECIALLY “Invincible.” If that one’s not devil-tier on vocals, I call shenanigans.
Really amazing pack, though I would have substituted “Fire and Ice” for “Hell is For Children” (awesome guitar in that one). The others are gold, though. Thanks HMX this is EPIC!
Yes been wanting “Invincible” for some time. Favorite Benatar song and the rest of the pack brings more epic 80′s cheese. I love getting all these Karoke stanadards because they have proven both fun and they get more people up to sing at my RB parties. I am not opposed to newer DLC its just that my guests know all the words to these songs.
Ah Pat Benatar. Her music (especially We Belong and Love is a Battlefield) are so definately 80′s. But that’s why I love them!

aww yeah, keep the 80s DLC coming!
Love is a Battlefield is a must buy. I may get Shadows and We Belong eventually too. I think this is actually a pretty good pack, considering I’m not a huge Benatar fan.
Yay. More of what we got on Friday. Just, you know, less iconic.
Invincible and Love is a Battlefield are very welcome. I’ll check out the others.
I’ll give it a listen, but I’m not promising anything.

Upon further review, I will be passing on this weeks DLC. Til next time …
Can believe after requesting is as most wanted DLC on RBs site (under my profile), that INVINCIBLE is coming..that song is in my top 5 favorite songs of the 80s.
For those who may not know, it’s the theme song to a very famous 80s movie starting Helen and Christian Slater as well as Yeardly Smith (voie of Lisa Simpson): THE LEGEND OF BILLIE JEAN
Oh hell yeah, my wife is gonna love this pack! Boourns on no upgrade for Heartbreaker though. Harmonies would have been wicked on that one.
Travis Reply:
February 18th, 2011 at 9:38 am
Harmonies aren’t part of the upgrade. Just pro guitar/bass.

Disregard my comment. I’m still waking up. Haha.
I’m all for more female rockers in the game, they are needed and Pat Benatar definitely belongs in the game. The greedy side of me was really hoping I would get some radiohead with my new radiohead!
Tim the Enchanter Reply:

I like your greedy side.
Was only going to get We Belong and Battlefield, then started listening to the other tracks and blammo, I’m back in the seventh grade. I clearly remember more Pat Benatar songs than I thought.
Loving the bass in Invincible. And the drums. And the guitar. Dang.
Promises in the dark is a groovy choice and no filler tracks. 100% awesome.
Benatar has always kind of chafed on me for some reason I could never put my finger on.
Still, this is a welcome pack; I do enjoy We Belong and Battlefield is such a standard that it’s pretty much a must-have.
Also, it’s great to start seeing some female vocals again! There was a long stretch up to the duets pack where the only female vox we had were Cities in Dust and Anais and Wir Sind Helden from the Euro pack. I hope we see Garbage, Hole, or Bjork soon.
now all we need is some Heart.
Croq Reply:

+1,000,000,000!!!
If they add Heart, I’m just going to have to fly to Boston and give all of them a big fat sloppy wet kiss! Or at least a high-five or fist bump!
Seriously though, we need Heart in this game.

YES! Now you’re reading my mind. I’m still bummed that the only rhythm game to feature “Magic Man” is…Rock Revolution. So it was cover, at that. This is a travesty.

Yes, please, with some keys and a side of 80s cheese:
1. Magic Man
2. Crazy on You
3. Barracuda
4. What About Love
5. Never
6. These Dreams
7. Alone
8. Straight On

Woo! This is a massive win! Shadows is one of my favorite songs ever! Whole pack bought!
We can’t afford to be innocent,
Stand up and face the enemy…
pass
I will be gettinghte entire pack, but I would of like to seen Hell is for Children in this pack
Nice week, my singer will love these tracks! Was also hoping for more 80′s tunes, win win!
What!?
woho
Amazing…I was waiting for the chart of “Love is a battlefield” a long time. The Band Hero chart was great (on guitar), but the drum chart does not, I hope in Pro Drums is chartted the intro.
*sigh of disappointment*
I am more of a metal guy, but Pat Benatar rocks. I think I am all in for this week! And the only week I have been all in since RB3 came out was the Lynyrd Skynyrd week (and Linkin Park, but that was more to sync DLC with bandmates). Thanks, HMX!
Good week!
Mom loves Pat Benatar, and guess what! She sings! LOL
Greatest.DLC.Ever. Maybe HMX has finally found their demographic. Us old guys will buy all this old DLC that we love and can afford the peripherals too…

yeah I dont mind these older tracks, just as long as they throw in a 3 Days Grace, Shinedown, or Hinder pack somewhere in there.
Dennis Reply:
February 20th, 2011 at 5:20 am
Yeah, I’m one of the “old guys” who was brought up in the 80′s so all the stuff HMX has been releasing recently I just gobble up. That being said, I’d still like the mix you’ve suggested with Shinedown moving to the top of the list though.

Excellent point. I’m sure HMX knows the demographic of people who buy DLC have steady jobs with steady income, therefore means they are older so like classic rock more. I for one am thrilled with the influx of classic rock DLC since RB3 release
Dennis Reply:
February 20th, 2011 at 5:24 am
Yeah. My set-up has all the candy. Ion drums with 2 cymbals, about 9 guitars to choose from, 3 mics, stage kit AND homemade stage right in the basement. Like you said… steady job, steady income = buying all the classic rock.

I’m nearing 20 and I like the old music too, overall moreso than the new. I’d just like other genres. I’m not too much into mainstream music, where the focus often lies on catchy lyrics and recognizable song structure.
With keyboards, harmonies and pro modes, this game could really use some hard rock and prog bands from the 60 through 80′s.
I can afford all the instruments and DLC too, I just spend my money carefully; I haven’t had a job in 18 months.
This reminds me, I want Pro Guitar upgrades for Hit Me With Your Best Shot.

I’m a little bummed no PG for Promises. But I’ll shut up now since this is still the world’s greatest DLC ever. Don’t make me upload my ticket stub from March 19th, 1983 (Yes – I somehow still remember that date…)

Fortunately, not really.
Great week of DLC. More 80s music, more female vocals, more imports used in the Guitar Hero/Band Hero games. Great week, whole pack buy for me.
I find it funny all the people complaining about the classic rock influx since RB3 launch. HMX knows the demigraphic of those who buy DLC have steady jobs (more likely meaning they are older) and are more likely to buy older DLC from their childhood. Not music that 14-18 year olds like now. Good job HMX, keep up the classic rock.

He qualified it as “more likely”, so he left enough hedge to not stereotype.
But good on you for being another Mark with good taste!
(I was a 17 year old stones fan in 1997)
Jason2087 Reply:

Not stereotyping just saying the demographics are obvious. Of course it doesn’t mean that there aren’t ever gonna be some 17 year olds who love classic rock, but just generally speaking.
hmmm… not really my cup of tea but oh well. DLC/RBN has been very dry for me lately (other than Meatloaf last week). Im still waiting some good stuff from the 90′s (Faith No More, Primus).
Awesome! I’m buying the whole pack.
Just no.
